Well if you think about it, it's the player bases way of increasing the TTK to make it less COD-ey. I think a good deal of players don't like being killed in less than a quarter of a second in a good suit by someone's rail gun from half the map away. I love it, btw. I've stopped running skirm and doms in favor of running a rep tool in ambushes. All those fat suits need somebody bring em back up to full armor, and I'm one of several who are cashing in! I had a sl-4 assault rail in a support focused logi suit. 1 enhanced dmg mod, the rest armour. I have no proficiency in rails. It was a hard fight though, about 30 seconds to a minute, but I downed them both. In general I find heavies with light weapons annoying, but today, skill and vengeance reign supreme! FAME

I lose more LAVs to running into friendlies than enemies killing me. You're right though. I guess I'm asking if you're problem is more to do with the power of the railgun turret or the fact that this tactic can be done solo. Regardless, the easiest way to deal with LAVs of any setup on the field is to lay proxies down in an area where you know they'll eventually traverse. Unfortunately neither Swarms nor Forges really do enough damage to the car itself that I wouldn't have more than enough time to just get out of the area Doing it solo is a more dangerous tactic overall because the chance that you'll be shot out is much higher, I have to wonder how 1.8's introduction of the Cloak is going to effect this tactic's viability.
