+1 this topic so the development team understands that we would like a Dev blog going over changes. I don't know about you but I think it's over due, plus I don't like having to dig through post to find hints of what might be coming.
In short just give us a blog going over what you're working on, it doesn't need to be a long, just the bullet points.

From what I've heard, a lot of time and review goes over a dev blog. Post like this ( I feel) are just an annoyance to rhe process.

If you want to sit and wait that's your choice. I for one feel differently, a simple Dev blog outlining changes, doesn't need to have stats just the basics. Or hell just an official forum topic going over a few things that way they can get real feedback, instead of the predictions of the public. |

It's not our choice.
It's what is going to happen. Regardless of the forum whining, the devs will take their time.
Oh, and there are a few topics going over a few things. Check the Features and Ideas section - there are several stickies there with a number of changes planned for 1.8.
