Standard Breach Shotgun
2x Complex Damage Mods
2x basic reactive plates
1 Enhanced Armor plate
Breach SMG
Nanohive
You will one shot most suits and two shot near everything. Anyone that lives through two shots will take about two more shots from your Breach SMG, respectfully.
I was inspired to make this thread from the atrocious and ignorant class suggestions on this thread, that tried to make the Gallante Assault into a mediocre Scout instead of playing towards damage, armor and repping.

So...
How do you expect to catch up on enemies, and how do you expect to regenerate at 2hp/s? And how do you expect to not have your face melted trying to flank, because everyone and their mother have a scanner?
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

Coarse enemies into close quarters. Use your Breach SMG at long range. It works. As a note, you do not need to be touching the enemy for your shotgun to kill them. The Breach Shotgun is effective till 15 meters, particularly when aiming down sight.

Do you play solo or in a squad?
I prefer shield tanking because I don't want to depend on a logi.

I sometimes shield tank, usually when I want to flank more.

Also, it is rather unreasonable to expect one person to kill five assailants at the same time.

I would run a scrambler rifle with this suit. High alpha damage but at 5x the range.
As for the sidearm a magsec would be so much better. High DPS and double the range of the minmatar smg.
The shotgun works well but only on a suit that can stealth well and bring the CQC to the enemy rather than bringing it to me. If I see a guy running a round a small corridor with a shotgun I will either empty all my grenades into him or get a position were I can target him from range, or just run away. The last thing I will do is get close to him...

There is a limit to how small that crosshair can be. If I removed your crosshair switched it to a dot then made your gun laser tight would it be good in CQC? No it wouldn't it would suck that's what killed the old HMG. Right now the Gallente weapons have a good balance when it comes to dispersion and that bonus should be used to something more useful. Look at the Amarr and Minmatar bonus they ensure that their guns stay firing while minimizing drawbacks, and buffing strengths respectively. The Gallente bonus does not minimize or buff anything useful about the gun.

As a user of the breach shotty, I can honestly say you have to get lucky and pray that hit detection is on your side.
Well, you'll be running a sidearm, so it won't matter much.
I don't have enough CPU on my scout to use a sidearm with my breach shotty. |

easy when the target isn't strafing around like a dying rabbit. In COD I keep my guns with as low dispersion as possible in Dust I have to keep it balanced so I can maintain target and get ad many bullets in as they move around and I move around.

Err.. YOU can make it faster than your current settings, by adjusting the sensitivity in-game, I would guess.
However, making it as fast as hipfire, would be stupid.
If you could aim accurately, and turn rapidly at the same time, there would be no point in having separate hipfire vs ADS modes.
They exist, because CCP WANTS there to be a penalty for the extra accuracy. |

Speed isn't everything when it come to shotgunning, hell, the thing even works on a heavy suit. Not in the open though. But it can murder in buildings.

The new bonuses are stupid for Gal Assault. With Sharpshooter 5 and operations 5 you already have a low enough dispersion that it is amost a non-issue. A RoF bonus or a mag size bonus would make much more sense. Heck, even a small damage bonus would make sense. The AR should be the best rifle for CQC and if the gallente are going to have some advantage with that weapon it should play to its strengths (ie RoF and damage).

generally good post. However, redundant, in that a RoF boost, is also effectively a damage boost at the same time.
