As a scout, I know what you mean.
I'll track someone through a wall, turn a corner knives ready only to go "HOLY F**K!" as I see the heavy.
From there, it's either a quick knife kill, or watching the HMG turn me into cheese grater.
Nothing says "F**K YOU!" like a direct Flaylock to the face.
