yup another review, if no ones dishes out my next topic i'll pick on randomly from gen tab.
ok here goes.DR;TL is at the bottom
way back in the wee days of super early dust there were only out of bounds areas. yup walk into enemy spawn areas.... you can see the problem with this right? i do hope so. so bam, redlines quick fix till something else better comes out. so snipers happy, they can sit super way back and have no fear of being knifed or killed by any CQC weapon without a fighting chance to kill them, come enters the days of head glitching since that is were bullets come from right?(in case anyone doesn't know that is the most common way in FPS and having the bullets come from the center of your screen because it is simpler coding and less work with less complains about not hitting while behind cover but seeing targets) this is a two part problem, one mapping was redone and wasn't fully complete on non-combat centered areas, ie mountain and other places out of the way you might wanna go to but are not close to where the maps planned objective points/spawn points areas. second is rounds coming from near the top of the head model and model dis-emplacement. im going to just leave this topic and go on.
it wasn't long before people had the bright idea of using something larger then a dropsuit to snipe with and so the redline rail tank was born. at first it wasn't popular but with time it became more popular tactic to prevent other team bring in HAVs to wreck infantry. this was all back in chromosome days kids. so the ability to see infantry was there so killing some was possible and with time to get good meant they could rack up kills 20+. this i will break into a few pieces. first killing vehicles in the redline is made difficult due to: A. time is limited and TTK vehicles is well long B. map design, check them out. they have raised hill or mountain with building out in front of them C. range, those redline are actually fairly large areas(most of them) and rails being best option for 200m+ D.poor rendering post chromosome turrets. yup those buggers hit hard and don't need to render in order to fire.
second, getting to them means either getting to a higher elevation and using a long range weapon(forge or rail tank) which puts you closer to their side then the middle of the field and usually only accessible by dropship(which is likely to be shot down before getting there) or entering the redzone and fighting the timer. currently the average TTK of a HAV vs HAV with hardener is 12 second. so unless damage is done before you will lose. the other option is av grenades since it is the highest DPS to vehicles. downside is limited ammo so multiple people or you will need to do the rest via w/e av weapons you have. equipment is auto destroyed(no damage) in redzones so its N/A here. i personally haven't done a fully in depth TTK with them but 12seconds(current not chromosome) once again is the standard i found for av only, no av grenades. so this basically means via solo its LOL suicide(current not chromosome again). during chromosome there were some under the 10seconds so possible.
then came the age and rage of uprising. oh man... this hit everything and i could say so much on this but sticking on topic. rendering was well broke. this lead to many rail snipers being useless and blaster tanks running a muck everywhere. some new maps came out which cut down the need for snipers. i'll cover snipers in depth some other time. along with this came the age of scanners which remove the team spotting snipers could be counted for. and so the day of the forge sniper was born, rendering within 150m was fine for most people which is where the forge is good at. so HAVs didn't know where to go and opt out for the hardened LLAVs and snipers just sat on the hands trying to figure out a new role for themselves. ok so at this point little redline uses but still prevent base spawn camping, LLAV and forges everywhere, infantry mad at that. on top of that major damage nerf to rail tanks making their role much weaker.
after sometime and some update and then the promise vehicle balancing. some of you might be going alright he is nearing the end and i am. ok so rendering was band aided with time delayed rendering and that is what it is. this means you don't get an actual picture of all there so you'll have to hold down and wait for things to render in. this means counter sniping is harder since you have to render everything in while they have render sight picture. no new maps, some got redesigned to help prevent redline snipers camping areas. which is . they still have the all the problems from above, so the "original maps" are sniper friendly while newer maps are not. provide info only to squad via comms if they all have it. snipers looking pretty useless so a big drop off from chromosome levels. now the other big offender rail tanks. limited ammo barely effected them but lowered their killing power some more. so rails ended up being a numbers game. more rails= more likely to control the armor on the ground. thus spam HAV tactic was the only remaining choice for tanks and with the reduced cost made it more more likely to be profitable. meaning lots of rails to cover the few blasters. backwards from chromosome where one rail could control multiple with skill(personal)

ok now to sum it all up. yup still more guys. reason for the redline to made- spawn camping base spawns. chromosome lessons- map blindspots(headglitching spots), high rendering leads to new players sniping, spotting(i guess CCP thought it was OP) TTK to mid field is bad; make it skill based, hills=bad uprising lessons- lower rendering destroys balances; leads to infantry only or glitched methods, map coverage needs some balance and options for multiple types of game play, to long of TTK makes roles useless post CCP god balancing of vehicles-redline needs to be longer then TTK, less fitting options leads to fewer tactics.
and done.
CCP your character counter lies btw. fix it now.
