Slayer Logi's are so easily fixed it boggles the mind why they are still an issue.. Stop allowing these scrubs to equip basic equipment on a Pro suit
Think about it... Any player that gives a damn about being Logi runs good equipment All the guys that wanted an assault with passive rep run compact hives....

Plus, if I can carry a comparably better weapon due to CPU and PG reduction, I think I can kill better.. Especially if I throw in one of those nifty LP Specialist weapons, Light Weapons will cost practically nothing, allowing for better modules to be used.

I would love to see the purposed slot layout changes to the assault and logi before they go live.
I think that as a community we could come up with a reasonable setup for both suits that would allow the logi's to still be a viable support class and have enough slots to be able to survive well enough to actually support the assaults and heavies without overshadowing them in the slayer role.
Also it would give us all a chance to help build the assault suit to actually be the slayer that its supposed to be, thus reducing the incentive for players to just grab said logi and slap a bunch of damage mods on.
Still an advocate of removing the logi suits ability to even have damage mods, but I know that isn't going to happen. (Yes, I run Min logi with a CR)

While this is true, if the slot layout doesn't match the suit and stats, people will still overlook the bonus and build towards one or the other.
Look at what happened in closed beta when proto assaults had 2 equipment slots. We only had Caldari assault, or Minmatar logistics and the Caldari had better speed, tank, a side arm, and the 2nd equipment over the Minmatar logistics squishy slow build. This caused a lot of players to pick up the logi role in an assault suit, sacrificing 1 equipment slot for all the other buffs listed above. The assault suit overshadowed the logi suit in being a support role, so people picked it over the logi suit, what we have now is simply the reverse. IMHO its largely due to damage mods being stacked on the logi suits.
As I've stated in the above post, I believe that as a community we can come up with a reasonable design to keep both parties happy, without having one suit perform better in the others intended role, while still keeping enough versatility in each suit so that one doesn't become completely useless.
I know the general thought is that assaults should kill everything, and logis should just sit back and keep everyone supplied and repaired, but look at a field medic in the military. They go through the same training as a straight up soldier, but they branch off after a point and go down the life preservation path. It doesn't mean that they are totally ineffective in a fire fight in the ways of defending themselves, or even engaging the enemy along side with the front line soldiers, but rather they are still closely similar to the front line soldiers, only with a medical specialization rather than one focusing on weaponry.
Edit: You shouldn't be seeing a field medic running with an M249 instead of an emergency triage kit.
Just my thoughts on the matter.

I've never had a problem with triage hives because I use flux.

No,because his assault opponent gets a 25% reduction to his weapon fitting reqs, a bonus to his weapon, and if he teams up with his own logi friend can also get all the benefits of a triage hive (along with everyone else in the squad).
He also has better base stats, is faster, and has more stamina.

Scout and Heavy 514 in 1.8 Increased magazine size, faster reload speed, reduced heat buildup, and more accuracy are all indirect buffs to DPS. They all allow you to put more fire on the enemy.

People like you that makes "conclusion" without reading ALL is getting boring BUT i'm gonna explain why the "slayer logi" is now TOTALLY DEAD.
Logistics suits is going to receive a HUGE nerf to PG/CPU. Now that they have their fitting cost for equipements "reduced" they can fit their equipements way easily. BUT it means this bonus comes with a PG/CPU reduction on their suits.
Like that they can fit all the equipements they want BUT they're not able to fit lot of enhanced/complex mods. This AND the fact they have base stats lower in all parts than assaults makes them IMPOSSIBLE to equal an assaults with same skills.
YES a Proto Logi will outperform a STD/Militia Assault but this is normal don't you think ?
If you have questions you can ask . (especially if you don't belive me or think they will still be able to be better than assaults.) |

With a 25% reduction to light and sidearm weapon CPU AND PG you are going to be able to make nearly as buff an assault with a better weapon, grenade, and sidearm. It will also move faster. Anyone wanting to play slayer logi after 1.8 is seriously just gimping themselves.
Most tankers are like sand people. They frighten easily, but will quickly return...and in greater numbers.

That minimal reduction to my light weapon will MAYBE give me 85 more EHP.
THIS DOES NOT change the problem of logis having more slots, equipment, total health, rep ability, and damage. |

Yeah, I do, on both my characters I have Core upgrades, Elctronics, and engineering all to level 5. On my assault suit I am still always scrimping for an extra PG here or a dozen CPU there. For my assault character I'm happy with the new bonuses, it may keep me in my minmatar assault suit. As a logi I'm still pissed about the changes that are screwing logi bros because of assault logi jerkoffs. We logis are losing our passive armor reps, our equipment is getting nerfed (unless CCP comes to their senses and adds bonuses to the equipment skills) and likely we're getting CPU/PG nerfed.
As it is with a PG upgrade I can run a mix of complex/enhanced modules, proto gun, and advanced equipment or complex/enhanced mods, advanced gun, and proto equipment. That is on gallente logi with level 5 in the suit. If they nerf logi PG/CPU this logibro is going on strike and you all can rep, revive, repair, and scan for your damn selves.
If you want to wear a suit that doesn't take advantage of any of its bonuses, is slower than the corresponding assault, has a higher shield recharge delay, and is painted to be a giant target all so you can gain maybe 100-200 EHP at best...be my guest
