Looks interesting.
Also, I noticed that they said 500,000 people play eve, and there are 900,000 people spread across dust and eve. I can't help but think that number's a bit wrong. 400,000 people don't play dust, surely?

ANd the Dust number might be higher than you think (although not 400,000) when you take in all the timezones. Number of concurrent users is between 3000 and 6000 most of ghe day in Dust, so a conservative estimate suggests roughly 10,000 to 12,000 active accounts.

Not sure I'd call them toys exactly, as they were pretty damn expensive, but they used to sell one battleship of each faction. I so wanted a Megathron, but could never afford it.

With 10000 total and lets sayy 3300 on at time that would mean that every active dust player plays 8 hours a day everyday....

It's unlikely to be 400,000 though.

Lol, my point is that CCP promotes Star Wars level cool but delivers a cornier, cheapened, also-ran version of its vision.
70s Doctor Who is laughable compared to more modern, swanker, more dynamic sci-fi presentations. It's the glitz of ground breaking special effects compared to low budget T.V.

I have been saying it for years...
"EVE's story is way, way too interesting for it to be only in a slow and 'boring' game."
The first thing I thought of was Game of Thrones or The Wire. No real protagonists, no real 'good guys.' Just showing the races, warts and all. The Amarr would be self-righteous in their beliefs of their god and empress, Caldari would be ruthless and completely backstabbing in the most cutthroat manner, Minmatar would have to keep themselves from separating and vanishing into the winds, and the Gallente could be seen for some of their hypocrisies that happen with the only democracy in New Eden.
The backstory in EVE is honestly the best backstory I have ever seen in any game. Ever. But getting into it means read thousands of disorganized piece of web pages and cross referencing them. Watching the Minmatar Revolt or the Caldari splitting from the Gallente would be great. Jeez, imagine seeing Titanomachy without all the spreadsheets. |

Edit: Also, seeing the Battle of Caldari Prime on the screen should be epic. Though that'd take a while, right? I mean they have to get trhough 10 years of EVE first.

Anyway if this show goes to Netflix or one of the better cable networks it might be good, I really hope it is. If it winds up on Sy-fy though.......its going to be a steaming pile of crap.

I'm not even kidding. It was terrible. There was a pale skinned bald dark one, a blonde light sister, and a grey bearded father. The Grey one was trying to get Anakin to take over for him to keep balance of the force because he's the chosen one. Three episodes later all three of them die and Skywalker gets a vision of Vader (something we've seen before).
It was incredibly stupid.
