You wanted more life and more damage you go Commando.
You wanted to tank damage but still makes some damage to a sinlge unit that thinks it could kill you fast alone ? You go Sentinel.
Heavy just need 2 more Heavy weapons (Gallente/Amarr). (More choice) they don't need more firepower.
If they don't deal a lot of damage then it's a pointless class Heavys should have the most powerful weapons (such as the HMG and the forge gun) So you want a class with them ost ehp and most powerful weapon ? AND damage resistance ? .... LOL. High HP and high Damage is the role of the sentinel Deal with it Well...everyone can have his own point of view.... To me : Heavy Role : Low ehp High Damage : Commando. Average ehp average Damage : Sentinel High hp Low damage : ??? There's much more to it than HP And damage Sentinel gets high hp and damage because it's a limited role Commando gets 2 light weapons and equipment

Because that's the only viable alternative IMO.
Expecting heavies to stick to two niche weapons is absurd. Heavies ar supposed to be able to take EXTRAORDINARY amount of damage itohut dying. And no equipment, and the lowest movement speed?
Yeah.
No.

I don't understand the hate for heavies with light weapons; they're easier to kill than logis with light weapons because they can have almost as much HP as a heavy while remaining more mobile and being a smaller targer while also being able to put out more damage with whichever light weapon because of more module slots as well as being able to heal & resupply themselves because of equipment slots.

Also in eve weapons aren't as effective as they are here. But ships usually have at Least two bonuses.
Example: no reason to have gallente medium 4, or galente medium 5. You can get assault suits and go up in that for 2 bonuses, 1 galente suit, and 1 assault. In eve you get bonuses for those 3 medium levels so you should still go up.
Lower galente weapon damage, and give a weapondamage buff with galente medium suits. same for rof, reload, optimal range, etc.
Now you have two bonuses before you even get to assault or logi encouraging you to use those weapons. Less effective in the hands of the wrong suit (heavy) and we get a bit more balance like eve. |

Expecting heavies to stick to two niche weapons is absurd. That's the issue. They have no good heavy gear...The HMG is nice but the Forge Gun isn't even a good Anti-Infantry weapon. It's one shot, and it's blasts range sucks. So I always think the heavies have only one legitimate weapon.
Because there's nothing worth shooting that isn't infantry... Oh, wait, what's this patch again? Tanks514? Also, l2aim, you can OHK 250k GalLogi suits with a militia forge. Don't knock the forge brah. |

Any confirmation of this?
Anyway. I'm a fattie through and through. And I'd prefer to see Heavy Suits balanced around Heavy Weapons, not whether or not Heavy Suits will be OP using RRs or CRs.
And I'd much rather see the suits be limited to Heavy Weapons only than see Sentinel become the scrub FOTM of choice.
I'm sorry that there are some legitimate dedicated heavy/light weapon players like the OP that get screwed over by that. But Commando is getting a tasty buff, and I honestly think they'll be happy with that even though they would lose their Sentinel suits.

IIRC, CCP said that "Heavy" was in reference to them being a "Heavy Weapons Platform". That said, the purpose of the Sentinel seems to be absorbing damage and point defense. The idea being that they can take a lot of punishment, but aren't as mobile as an assault, etc.
In practice, a solo Heavy with an LAV can get around pretty quick.
Dren and Templar equipment stats, wrong since release.
