I think they may be working on actually getting all of the game done at the moment. However, a social area of some sort makes sense. We literally only see other players on the battlefield during combat . Comparing Dust to EVe in this case doesn 't work as you can at least group together and do things that aren't combat there by undocking ships and flying to the same area of space. The social aspect is a large part of MMOs and it's pretty lacking in Dust.
Even if it's one communal area where anyone can go it would be better than we have now. And they could open it up to capsuleers as well so we can all interact more easily and have a closer Eve/Dust link. Hell, letting you invite people to your MQ/CQ would be better than we have now.

You wouldn't know it though for all the half baked development. EVE doesn't have a "social hub," either. Captains' quarters were released with the intention of adding social hubs later, but the players got pissed and revolted. Everybody wanted CCP to work on gameplay instead. CCP probably won't add social hubs to DUST out of fear of a similar reaction. Eve doesn't need a social hub though, it never did, when you can lee up and go flying randomly through space together, chatting as you go. You can't do that in Dust. Voice chat should be for talking about the match and stopping to use thetext chat will just get you killed. As I find out every time my finger hits the T key instead of R to reload. (I'v decidd I need a beter keyboard for my PS3.)

Funny thing is, before we got it, I would regularly see calls for walking in stations when I was playing EVE. Along comes Incarna, we get a lot of hate about the locked door and suddenly no -one would admit to wanting walking in stations .
I think that Dust is the perfect place to work on it. They could flesh out the station interiors, give us social spaces and new battlegrounds and types all at once. Then finally unlock the doors for the capsuleers.

Just been to the PS home area. Nice place I guess. That game seems to have me stumped at the moment though. I'll probably swing by again tomorrow and take another shot at it.

Multiple areas of the MCC, like in the video, ty OP btw had'nt seen that vid yet, being able to get out of the merc quarters and into the stations. Involvement with EVE pilots. A really invovled way to have the player market. A better way to meet new or vet mercs. I could go on all day I agree that's the goal, but it's going to be 1.9 at the very earliest before we get any of that. SO why not use what we do have in the meantime?

Supposedly you get something for winning a game of slay. I've already picked up the other free stuff, the ps home dropsuit and the 10 LAV's. Just working on this last one.
