Alright, this is a bit of an idea to help boost the base/prime features of dust. Factions and Corporations as well as boost new player friendlyness.
Each faction, AMARR - CALDARI - GALLENTE - and MINMATAR all have a unique back ground and list of "sub races" for each one that show a different attribute or upbringing. Why not make this mean something? To increase the "flavor" rating.
The AMARR - loyal, spiritual, experienced, and powerful. This sounds like a nifty little manner of saying - DO NOT **** WITH US, The AMARR seem like a powerful and extremely talented military power but me as the player just joining it for the name? Nah, lets make it better. AMARR being a "main faction" why not make the faction it self and thus faction contracts more fun/with more meaning than just LP to get quicker proto gear.
Now imagine...your making your first character or even a new one and you've never touched AMARR before...but whats this?! It gets a special passive...wait...not just AMARR but all four of them?! Madness I say.
AMARR being powerfully skilled combatants and thinkers..+ 10% SP as a passive per battle. So instead of 5,000 you get 5,500. Not much but it gives it some reason.
CALDARI strong, fierce, determined, ruthless, and efficient. I actually have two ideas for this faction, one! A decrease on all market trades requiring ISK by 10% making them able to maintain their suits/sets longer as a run on efficient or! a bonus of 5% ISK and SP per battle. Giving them a slight edge but at the same time nothing crippling.
GALLENTE, Free, Fair, Honorable and filled with Justice. Technologically advanced, this one is simple. a 10% Bonus on ISK gained per battle. Showing their free market system, and honorable ideals.
MINMATAR, powerful, dangerous, and seeking true freedom. Men and women donned by the field of battle, This one makes me think Spartans, a 10% Bonus to LP for factional battles. Giving them a nice little edge.
But this isn't all. Each faction has a bonus now, right but it seems like something you just wanted to give out. This is the holder.
Factional Contracts, if you join on the side of your faction - EACH TIME you level up you gain an additional 2% bonus to your factional passive! Think of it like this. AMARR you just leveled up - no longer ten percent but twelve. The next little idea, if you join in on any other side any other faction. It works the same way but instead of 2%, you get 1%.
So AMARR, say you joined with the GALDARI you'd gain 1% ISK as a bonus because you already have the SP passive but say a MINMATAR joined the AMARR. 1% SP Passive Gain each LVL up.
The CALDARI are a unique cross factional tree. Instead of 1% ISK/SP when you join them. AMARR get 1% ISK/GALLENTE get 1% SP and MINMATAR get 1% SP. The CALDARI when lvling up get 1% to both. So, 6% - 7% and so on.
Now Corporations, why not give them skills. Something to buffer their troops on the battle field? Give them a skill set like each player has but instead of a massive boost. Stuff such as. Armor Maintain = 1% Additional Armor per lvl at a max of 5% Costing a decent amount of ISK to purchase. Things such as that, even a boost in SP/ISK by up to 25%.
but before we get with that. The starting corps for new players. I have a very unique idea for them. Instead of a max of 25% ISK/SP a bonus of 50% to help them get into the game, and earn some experience under their belts. To help boost new player moral/population, and help push them into a better spot for catching up but! This way its not going to let them catch up to year long players instantly. |
