This is my personal account of my part in the systemwide attack on Public Disorder that took place in January
January 9, 2014 We attacked Public Disorder today. Knightz of the Round launched their attack earlier this morning along with the LRA fleet. I wasnGÇÖt part of the first assault, but as I fine-tuned my loadouts for my imminent deployment I caught some chatter here and there. It wasnGÇÖt enough to give me any real idea of what actually happened, beyond a decisive victory. Violent Priors told me that, GÇ£The Pilots were extremely helpful.GÇ¥ All I could assume was that our fleet was constantly bombarding the enemy from orbit, burning them out of their district with every fresh salvo of lazerfire. I didnGÇÖt understand then exactly how right I was. It was a few minutes to warbarge when the first kills came in; Jackson Davis had taken out one of SVERGÇÖs pilots while the Fleet was moving into position, he podded him too. Comms erupted with cheers from the infantry, and that gave me a lot of confidence. I was a tad nervous because this was my first deployment with Titans of Phoenix. IGÇÖd been doing a lot of Highsec public contracts recently and I knew full well thereGÇÖs a difference between running security for Quafe and invading a planet, but I hadnGÇÖt helped take a district in monthsGǪnot since Tritan. Once deployed to warbarge we divided into our squads, myself being assigned as Logistical support to a squad of infantry tasked with the assault, capture, and defense of the facility proper. The Commander gave the order and we were sent to the planetGÇÖs surface. Our squad met no initial resistance as we entered the facility exterior, and our orbital pilot fired his first salvo. Finding it odd that weGÇÖd not encountered the enemy yet I started up my active scanner and scanned the area, which immediately lit up with blinking red arrows. Seconds later our squad encountered enemy infantry, and their initial response was fierce. Gallente Assault Rifles and Minmatar Heavy Machine Guns made the close quarters engagement we were in very hectic. My shields popped left and right from the constant hail of plasmafire, and my Rail Rifle was at a clear disadvantage regardless of the assault variant I had brought. I was constantly rushing to keep my squadmates alive and their clips full. However, while their main force was focused on half our squad, myself and two others flanked and routed the enemy. They used drop uplinks to launch a quick follow up attack, but they landed around 150m from the facility exterior, in the middle of rocky plains. My Rail Rifle shredded them as they attempted to cross the coverless terrain, making sure to double-tap any clone waiting for a medic as I sat well beyond the effective range of their weapons. Our Commander ordered more Orbital strikes as we moved to attack the central facility. When we arrived, the entire thing was locked down with enemy infantry. Any attempt to enter was countered with deadly effectiveness, so we posted up on the exits and made sure that they couldnGÇÖt get out as much as we couldnGÇÖt get in. After a few minutes keeping the enemy inside, we made another attempt to make our way inside, but this time as a full assault with heavies storming all entrances. This coordinated strike proved too much for the soldiers inside and the Research Facility in its entirety became ours. Now it was only a matter of keeping our NULL cannons online and the enemy out. As I made my way to guard one of the cannons I heard this. GÇ£Enemy ships on gridGǪGǪEngaging enemyGÇ¥ I looked up to see small points of light popping above me and for a moment I was worried about our pilots in orbit, but as if to reassure me another salvo of the orbital pilotGÇÖs lazerfire streaked to the planetGÇÖs surface. I smiled as I made my way to my post only to see more soldiers running across the plains. I had my own problems to worry about. We sternly defended our cannons for the rest of the game, and the Rising Suns made sure that we had to. They came at us with every assault tactic I could think of: Dropship drops, stealth infiltration, coordinated assaults and good old fashioned Armor support. Every one, deftly handled by our commander making sure the threat was responded to quickly and effectively. After the destruction of their MCC we launched a follow up attack to clean up their remaining clones, which didnGÇÖt prove any easier than the initial assault. It may have been even more difficult the second time. Rising Suns fought hard for every meter of ground we took from them, and our Fleet constantly firing orbital strikes went a long way to making sure those fights went in our favor. As we cleared the last of the clones from the district we received this transmission, GÇ£Enemy Fleet on gridGǪ.. Orbital fleet disengaging,GÇ¥ A large fleet of pirates known as Calamitous Intent had shown up to take advantage of the conflict in orbit. So our fleet, being no longer needed and in immediate danger, was given the order to retreat. From what IGÇÖve heard they managed to get the fleet to safety with minimal or no casualties. A minute later the district was ours and I returned to station where I currently await my next deployment.
