This is especially true because the DUST team is so small. Old code is good code. Even better is old code that multiple other companies have been using and fixing bugs on for a while. UR3 has been well-vetted, and CCP shouldn't be running into bugs with the engine itself at this point. That means all bugs will be CCP's fault. I agree that the UR3 engine is restricting this game, as is the platform that's already obsolete. Having said that, I would rather CCP work out the balance issues and bugs with a known engine than pss away resources on some in-house thing, trying to make it work for the PS3s cell architecture, and then porting all of that to the PS4s completely different architecture a year later. That's crazy. It would introduce a massive amount of new bugs, and set development back years. Best PvE idea ever!

The Cry Engines can handle tne amount of resources needed for large expansive multiplayer maps, like the Conquest ones we are rumored to be getting soon. The Carbon Engine just didn't have the Brute Force required to make this game work on its own. The only real soultion is the one that DUST has taken and to make a Carbon/Unreal modified hybrid engine. This engine has never exsisted before and likely will never again outside of this game.
