Or just make the red line a barrier that can be passed out of but cannot be fired into or out of and you cannot turn around and run back into it. This will allow players the ability to regroup without being able to abuse its protection while dealing out death. |

Or, if team not break red line and caputere any point/instalation/depo in ex. 5 minutes, when battle is lost and end.
20minutes fight on red line is a joke.

You are aware are you not that the red line is for you? The sniper that is shooting you is unable to see your red line. They are operating within their clear zone. Being in their red line will kill them, just like you will 'commit suicide' if you linger too long past your borders.
Your suggestions are interesting but indicate quite clearly you have no idea how it actually works. Dust514 does not show either side the red line of those in opposition.
We operated in the past with much broader red lines. It made being red lined significantly worse, indeed you could get killed inside the MCC with Large Rail Gun Turret splash damage. A dreary experience and only worse for the new berries.
And so it goes. |

It's pretty well understood on this forum that 'inside your redline' is considered to mean 'inside the area in which the enemy can't reach you for fear of dying when the 20s timer runs out'.
Happily printing ISK with permahardeners and MLT blasters.
Just let me get a couple mil more before nerf, CCP!

If you remove red line sniping you remove snipers. The range of other light weapons is far too short for snipers to be contained in the redline. Snipers are not meant to be easily countered by rail rifles.
Instead of removing the ability to fire when in the red line, why not simply make the maps larger and create multiple ground bases for each team to help reduce base ****?
If the red line dissapeared and anyone could wander over to those special Thales' nests we wouldn't have QQ over cheap red line snipers just QQ over good snipers.

First off snipers can't even get into a prone position, we can only kneel. Second, you can see us from up to 600m out, we're not wearing any type of physical camouflage. Third, there is a physical range limit on the round itself, and some maps are just too large to be an effective sniper. This means we have to b skilled in another area to be effective in maps not conducive to sniping. Finally, the sniper rifle is incredibly underpowered to be a sniper rifle. Sniper rifles are supposed to be one shot one kill weapons. Think about it.
Don't get mad at snipers because they took advantage of your lack of ability to use basic battle tactics like cover or support. Be smart out there. If there is a redline sniper then counter snipe. I have an extremely cheap fit that I use to counter snipe when I'm not sniping. It's literally that simple. |

Hay why cant you all be more like me and think guy ?? come on rly be smart ! dont stand still dont walk into the open with out checking the field of fire your walking into check the kill feed dont run down a LONG HALL WAY WITH NO ROOF next to a HIll ! DONT RUN IN A LINE !

Redline is necessary to protect new berries from protostompers. What we need is larger maps, to where snipers have to leave the redline in order to get targets in range of their weapon. The problem is they can hit most everything from the redline. Maps get bigger, they have nothing to shoot at.
Best PVE idea I've seen.

There is plenty of oppurtinity for a proper sniper in most maps. Some require dropship support, but the majority don't.
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.
