The CR and RR are certainly equal.
RR pluses: best range and full auto fire at range. Assault variant is great at CQC and mid range.
RR minuses: is serviceable at CQC but I would rather have any of the other racial rifles. Staggaring difference between Prof 1 and prof. 5
CR pluses: devastating at CQC and midrange. 95%/110% shield/armor makes it well versatile against all racial armors. Lowest CPU and PG cost. Good range
CR minuses: more of an SP investment (needs sharpshooter to reach full potential). Placing rounds on target at mid-long range is more difficult than RR (at least for a scrub like me). Low damage per round means you need to accurately place more rounds on target.
Most tankers are like sand people. They frighten easily, but will quickly return...and in greater numbers.

You forgot to add that both are poorly balanced and OP.
All 4 rifles are OP, skilled AR users (SP invested and good at the game) are still killing with the AR not incessantly complaining in thread after thread on the forums.
Sorry the AR is not better than everything else anymore, sorry you put so much SP into it. Skill into one of the other rifles, you can use more than one you know. I have a couple million into MD, I think I have as much right to QQ as anybody but its not worth it and it will come back around, I've skilled into other things. Good players find a way to make almost anything work in this game, chase the FotB if you want easy mode, play with what you like and stop caring so much if you just want to use what you want to use.
