Let me tell you about the Time I hot dropped with a 5man team out of dropship directly onto a highly contested point.
We were approximately 2/3 of the way through a hard-fought very even skirmish match.
I spawned in from my most recent death, (ran over by a LAV t rolled into me if you must know) and noticed a near full dropship, just about to take off.
I jump in quickly thinkin safety in numbers.
Now obviously the team I had inadvertently joined noticd my presence and move to team chat so I could hear. It was then that their commander gave this rousing sppeech.
Right lads, we believe that the enemy resistance is mostly co-ordinated from a Single Point at C, we believe they have enough uplinks to maintain a strong defensive front line.
You are going to perform a HALO jump directly on to the point, be sure to deploy your dampner as late as possible, we can't afford for the Red B******* to hear you drop. When you reach the ground you need to priortise on destroying the uplinks. Without them they won't be able to maintain their supply lines.
After that all you need to do is hold the line. Okay lads, red light, red light, green light, JUMP, JUMP JUMP
It was only after I jumped from the DS that I realised we were actually at the altitude ceiling, that battlefield stretched out beneath me as my newly formed comrades glided down to the point beside. Then all of a sudden the ground came rushing up to meet me, I deployed my dampner so late I took shield damage, unfortunately the Scout half a second behind was not so lucky.
Before I had time to recover hails of bullets passed over my head from all directions, I couldn't tell friend from foe, I ducked for a wall and started doing what I did best. My Mass Driver shots hit with unnerving conviction, hundreds uplinks were destroyed, all the while a brutal fight went on around me.
When the dust finally cleared we had one the match by a total of 30 clones and 5bars of MCC health. The capture of C had been the turning point. Coincidently it was hear I was invited to join my first Corp.
