I got scanned when I just spawned in the MCC. I understand they are changing it to be a snapshot, conal scan, which is good, but they also shouldn't be able to scan through walls imo. |

Actually, that's probably because your dead body got scanned before you respawned. It only lasts like a second or two for the message to disappear. Not sure if you're actually scanned while that message is up if you respawned, though.
Scanners will probably be in the right place in 1.8 and I think the cool down is also increasing.
If you are still getting scanned and are sick of it when 1.8 drops, I would suggest playing as scout. Probably Gallente Scout since they're getting a dampning bonus. |

If you see that you been scan right after you spawn in the MCC its a bug left over from you being killed last time, don't think anything of it. Its lying! |

What are we meaning when we say "snapshot?" I think it just means an immediate scan, no scanning time. It still is going to track. |

I dont even use scanners but I do think making them unable to scan through walls kind of kills the purpose, if they're not behind a wall or something, there in your field of view which defeats the purpose of the scanner altogether.

I believe you're correct with that as given the scanner information in the 1.8 equipment stat chart, the target track time is still identical to current. Quantum scanners still give 15 seconds. Regular is still 5. My guess is that a "snapshot" will just be an instant scan of whatever degree radius your scanner has in the direction you're facing. Won't be any more 360 sweeps, but from what I see, I still think the scanning "function" itself will remain the same.
