Theres's a really good reason he's asking: the CPM has no idea what they do, either. All we've -ever- heard about the two heavy weapons is their name only. There's no evidence that any work (including art/modelling) has ever been done to develop them out. Hell, CCP might not even know exactly how they want these to work, other than "big laser" or "big plasma". That's where things are developmentally, unless they're withholding information from us. No one should take this "leak" as any exciting news or portent of things to come. Heavy weapons are a long, long ways off, and certainly won't be in 1.8 (and probably not whatever comes next, either, judging from the amount of time it takes them to make new gear from scratch, without even a model). In fact, that we only have the names means that these are even EASIER to change to something else, should CCP decide to do so. So the crystal balls are even more useless in this situation.

If DUST is going to be successful it needs to follow the patterns established by EVE and that includes all four racial versions of various gear. The sooner CCP gets that basic racial gear into the game, the sooner they can make meaningful progress towards addressing balance issues with a complete basic foundation to work from. The sooner they can work on new content (new role bonused suits/vehicles and weapons) that meshes with the racial basic foundation. The sooner they can shift focus to new mechanics that bring us some real integration with EVE. Make sure CCP knows that, Heinrich. It is also grouped in with the other light weapons. Plasma Mortar looks about right. Though will def look different, even if they use that as concept art.

It's definitely unique, I'll give you that. Maybe a weapon that doesn't need to reload since it had a battery of 4000W (400 continuous shots) and make it a spray weapon like a flamethrower or something, but it doesn't regain that power automatically. You can refill lost power at a Depot or hive.

I doubt they'd show the old art of he SCR if they had the more recent finalized art finished; and they did have the finalized art already finished, since the scrambler rifle was completed by Fanfest 2013 and in use in the tournament. They even showed the finalized art even before Fanfest during the Tester's Tournament in the wallpapers section of the site. Also, this is the art of the development of the SCR, the thing appearing on the Fanfest 2013's assorment of weapons does not appear in the SCR's art incarnations. As long and I can kill both foot soldiers and Infantry with the Lance I have not issue.....though I don't think the Amarr heavy weapon will be a Beam Laser. It will be a Scrambler Pulse Laser, IMO. It's in the upper right corner with the other rifles. The lance might actually be above the forge gun in the bottom left corner. Or that may just be another light AV weapon,seeing as it's next to swarms and the plasma cannon. The caldari shotgun is to the right of the gallente one in the second row. I game over like a boss.
