Land: LAV (LIGHT ******* ATTACK VEHICLE): Light transport/skirmish against infantry/a¦¦r¦¦m¦¦o¦¦r¦¦
MAV: Anti-Infantry, small turrets for OK Anti-Armor
HAV: Anti-Vehicle, small turrets for OK Anti-Infantry (PLEASE try to argue Missiles and Railguns do not decimate any and every vehicle, Blasters are OP against infantry)
Air: Fighter: Anti-Infantry, small turrets for OK Anti-Armor
Dropship: Transport/skirmish against infantry/armor
Bomber: Anti-Vehicle, small turrets for OK Anti-Infantry
What we have now: HAV: KILLS EVERYTHING BEST IN GAME GG HUEHUEHUEHUEHUEHUEHUEHUE
LAV: SUICIDE BOMBING ALLAHU AKBAR DEATH TO INFIDELS AHAHAHAHA
DROPSHIP: RDV. RAILGUN INSTALLATIONS. LOLOLOL OL O O ALWODOAWLDLASLD
What we should have now: LAV: Light transport/skirmish against infantry/armor
HAV: Anti-Vehicle, small turrets for OK Anti-Infantry
Dropship: Transport/skirmish against infantry/armor
CCP, make HAV better fit its correct role by making their main turrets (e.g. basically just the blaster) far weaker against infantry. Sharks (HAV) eat Tuna fish (other vehicles), not minnows (infantry).
Also make LAVs better capable of skirmishing against armor by buffing small turrets and balancing LAVs in relation to each other (Saga vs. Methana). Allow LAV to seat 3 passengers if you remove the small turret. Release vehicles for other classifications of AIR and LAND so we have a complete food chain.
Thanks.

The LAV IS an attack vehicle ... very few people have caught on to that fact however. Stick a railgun turret on the thing and go to town. Glad someone is acknowledging how lackluster the Saga is compared to the Methana though.
If you touch the Small Railgun it needs to be with respect to a damage modifier tweak against vehicles (they're not doing 100% of their damage against vehicles). Do NOT buff that thing's base damage because it's already pretty much eclipsing every other Small Turret type as an Anti-Infantry tool when equipped to ground vehicles. You could probably even justify a blanket damage nerf with how dominating that thing is.
Small Blasters need a significant buff to come anywhere near the usefulness of the Small Railgun turret. It's almost a mirror of the problem with Rail Rifles v. Assault Rifles, the rails get all the advantage of the damage output with much more range at their disposal and a negligible loss of effectiveness in CQC. The assaults aren't doing anywhere near enough damage in their optimal in order to compete with that.
Agreed on the Large Blaster Turret front, they can't have their cake and eat it too. Right now they're damn near untouchable by anything other than Proto AV and with a Large Blaster on the field they'll tear through any infantry that tries to prove that otherwise. Decrease the thing's rate of fire, increase it's damage, and make them more effective as anti-vehicle tools.

What needs to be changed: - LAVs need suspension. That simple change will raise effectiveness of its assault role vastly by making the gunner capable of shooting while the vehicle is moving. - Large turrets need variants with fixed roles. Be either good at infantry or at vehicle killing, never both. - Small turrets can keep to their roles defined by turret type - Blaster against infantry, railgun against vehicles, missiles for a middle ground. (The reasoning here is that large turrets have lots of power, which can be downscaled for an AI role. You can't easily upscale small turrets, however, because then they'd be large turrets) - Allow dropship pilots to kick out people and to see what the hell the gunners are shooting at and if they are making progress. Maybe allow a switch to a "hover" mode, which would allow the dropship to stay airborne while the driver changes into a gunner seat.
And then there's the rather ordinary stuff - Buff small blasters, for example.
Also, I don't think that fighter would be anti-infantry. The name alone implies that they'd combat other aircraft. |

Bump
Do people really think that HAVs need to be anti-infantry when 2/3 of the turrets are superb AV?
I think the fighter would better fit an anti-infantry role because it balances out vehicle combat. Only having MAV be dedicated anti-infantry may seem a bit weird, but I'd be fine with a fighter being AV.
I was thinking of the fighter being more along the lines of an attack helicopter or little bird, y'know?

Who ever said that? The idea is forcing HAVs to focus on either infantry or vehicles, not to force them to only fight infantry. Currently, you can equip the blaster and roleplay a honey badger. Both infantry and tanks will die to you.

The ADS is the attack helicopter. The fighter would be a fighter - A ******* jet airplane. Those tend to overshoot ground targets, which makes them really bad against infantry. |

I agree with you. HAVs, specifically rail guns, do the anti-material thing quite well, missiles too. They sacrifice ROF a lot to do it and ROF and splash are key to killing infantry. The large blaster needs its ROF decreased and DMG increased so the DPS stays the same.
Tanks need to be able to rolfstomp everything except the bomber which is slow, high altitude with extremely high alpha that is countered by gunships.
