You mean what forces me to come back lol? Time invested, and thats it. And my corp makes bearable.
I have lately been extremely guilty of qqing hard about Dust, but still playing. I burnt out pretty hard and lost my composure this past month (and left over 500k sp on the table last cap alone). Im pretty much back on the horse, but my dislike for the current direction of the game remains. Im just hoping CCP can pull a rabbit out of a hat soon.
@marad"er- I did the exact same thing. Those ADs are pretty fun.

The potential that Dust 514 has keeps me coming back and it helps that COD and BF are the same every year. Oh and most other FPS games suck gorilla balls Excluding "KILLZONE 4".
Sidenote: Dust desperately needs PVE come on CCP I cant keep spending money on warframe.
Come get this money or at least show us you want it.

Humanity has to be united, the Amarr are the only ones willing to do that. Thus they need a champion of the Faith both on and off the field. I strive to be that champion.
The fact that an FPS lets me theme my character and RP to this extent.... oh and the hope that one day Dust will be as expansive as EVE.

Scrambler rifle.
The feeling of doing very well in a battle with only my standard BPOs (easily ruined by protostompers and tank spam though), especially when I get 1st place on my team.
Those rare close battles where both teams are competent.
Promises of future greatness.
Building my character.
Not many other high health Battlefield-esque scifi FPS out there for PS3, especially nothing this ambitious, and free-to-play.
Last, but not least, a few people I have grown to actually consider to be my friends.

No other games in the genre. FPS is always a mindless fragfest. With MAG gone only Dust has clan based gameplay with world persistence. The game is poorly exucuted still, though better than what it was before. It's sorta hard to compare Dust to other games since there is no competition on consoles. Still game mechanics are just bad.
PLC, NK, Scout - before 1.8.
That's right, I stack that OP Sh!t.

I could give a few reasons, but the biggest one is because I genuinely have fun and love the ISK dynamic to the game. I tried playing Battlefield again but it just seems wrong that a death or a kill means nothing.
I also love lasers. I love healing someone makes you vulnerable. I love that taking an objective makes you vulnerable. I love that there are side objectives with CRUs and Supply Depots. I love that you can call in a vehicle wherever and whenever you want. I love that I can modify nearly every stat on my player. Sure Dust needs a lot of work, but I genuinely do have a lot of fun playing it.
And then there is the whole space role playing and connected to EVE thing, which of course is really awesome to me.

I haven't really played since they announced legion. But when I do log back on it be yo squad with my mates in the wolves as that's all that's really left in this game for me.
