The basic thing I am asking for is a method to change what local we are in, and to move around instead of being stuck in a particular place.
How I would like to suggest doing it:
Currently in our quarters we have our two closed doors. Those of us who play EVE have seen similar quarters with a door that is closed, and other that is open and goes out to the hangar of the station, and to the EVE pilots ship.
What I would like to see in DUST is that same back door open and give the DUST player the ability to walk out and see the inner area of the station they are in, and see EVE ships moving around like and EVE pilot would see in station. Instead of a ship though, it would lead to an interface where a DUST merc can pay for passage with an NPC to another station. The price would be determined by the number of jumps between locations and would only be done once a day. Maybe the price could increase if the system has a high population, like Jita. Making it less likely that DUST mercs would want to fill a particular system, but not bar them from having the freedom to do so with reason.
I suggest NPC only so that the movement can be instant. It would make the DUST merc feel that they are part of the EVE universe in a more significant way, and give players the freedom to move to different stations.
SOV stations would require a person to be part of a corp that allows people in, and any station open to EVE pilots publicly should allow DUST mercs. Even in NPC null. This would cause more interaction between DUST and EVE players, and allow DUST players access to a little more sandbox. |

We set a destination, an agent of the station give a transport mission to the EVE player and they can load a copy of us on their ships. When they complete their mission, you are moved to the selected station. That could work. Knowing an EVE player could help one get by the fee.
I at first thought it should be NPC only, to give an instant transfer, but your idea makes sense that the transfer would complete after the EVE pilot delivered the clone. |
