Past six months? sorry but still no improvement versus the numbers from six months ago. Past year same story.
games like MAG are certainly growing the player numbers, but the upslope started right at 1.7 I don't remember thinking 1.7 was all that awesome, so i'm thinking as time goes by more and more people who have been playing some other title for 2 months think to themselves "you know, I've got a prototype suit worth of skills sitting in dust..." |

Yeah that plus a 3X SP event but the downside of that is that after a week the same folks look at Destiny, Division, Witcher, et all and they leave Dust another two or more months to go play those games.
The problem being if there are good games that folks like every two months then the problem becomes that those folks play a game for two months and instead of comeing back to dust they instead play another new game for another two months.
Then if they come back after six months they go huh?? that little bit is all thats changed in six months and they either leave for another six months or they do the upgrade to PS4 and thats it for that player sampling anymore of dust PS3.??

It is a next Gen version of battle front. Without all the content. Its fun and addictive, but that's about it. All we really have is glitches bugs exploits and promises. This game won't match battlefront, as long as there's no space dogfights ala BF2 and SWBF Elite Squadron

Same old same old people. If CCP was a publicly traded stock they'd be hammered. you've also shown that you don't understand how eve offline works So how does it work???...lol!! BEFORE when there were 60 MILLION PS3 sold there were 9000+ peak number Dust player counts. THEN when there were 70 MILLION PS3 sold there were LESS than 9000+ peak, LESS than 8000+ peak, LESS than 7000+ peak....hell even LESS than 6000+ peak. RIGHT NOW!!! when theres MORE than 80 MILLION PS3 sold http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-11-06-playstation-3-sales-hit-80-millionAnd yet theres LESS than 5000 players????.....lol!!! TANK 514......... I play a game for fun and not SP. Build 1.7 fails in that. Hopefully 1.8 fixes a few things but who really knows?? What I can tell you is Destiny, The Division, PS2, Thief, The Witcher 3, Fallout 4 , etc. all look like fun. I'm not sure what's more pathetic - you tooting your horn on games that don't have gameplay footage (Fallout) or wasting your time on a video game forum advertising for even more generic game's than DUST (The Division). Though I must admit Shadows of Mordor looks sweet The first to insults is the first to lose the argument. Whats pathetic is someone needing gameplay footage to legitimize that they are haveing fun?? LOL!! Not to legitimize if they're having fun. It's to check if the gameplay's any good. Take your Fallout for eg. Taking Bethedsa (or whatever it is)'s track record, and you can be ceratin that Fallout will have dull combat. Now take Shadows of Mordor. Now that's interesting I just sample Dust now since its no longer any fun unless I want to go FOTM tank spam or RR No problems with that though, but I don't see the need to advertise even worse games. Use better examples, which , at the moment, are really hard to come by. As for PS2, it remains to be seen, as I don't believe it to be a system seller, unless there's a MASSIVE advertising push, ala Titanfall.
PS, I still laugh at those who claimed Defiance would kill DUST

Defiance was a fun game. However, I never really understood the whole it is going to kill dust thing either as it made no sense. Defiance was mostly a PvE environment with a small scatter shot of p vs p. It was a completely different game. As I have said to the uber fanboys and the ultimate haters, Dust will be fine for awhile. It reminds me of mag. It is a niche game with a super dedicated fan base regardless of size. That alone, should carry it for quite some time as long as CCP is making a profit.

ccp will establish dominance in the next 6 months I think.

On weekdays it did it got little over 4k on weekends and if you bothered to read it will most likely go back to 3-4k(3.5k) if an update doesn't come this month . Or unless CCP should do another SP event it gets many people playing. |

+1 Positive post is positive.
I think your are mostly correct. I wouldn't use the word dominance but I would use the words "more competitive". I am in the same boat and I hope the trend continues upward.

These people play regardless if there is an event or not.
The difference is they play more.
Before the 1.4 patch we had consistent high server density without the massive noticeable peak times we have now. People just played more... They would log on and have a hard time getting off the game until they had to goto sleep.
The Experience event's will actually get people to log on and stay on for a bit... Most people regret it because DUST is near torture to play in majority... The Lag, Rubber banding, hit registry.. poor matchmaking.... terrible spawn points.. Un-competitive maps... Really shine through in those events.
People play DUST for roughly an hour, get pissed off and log off and or go play something else. DUST isn't fun right now unless watered down with alot of social interaction. |

If you look at the monthly chart, the period of Jan 22 to Jan 29 was up overall, likely due to the 3X sp event. The numbers for the last 2 days are back around average.
I don't see any growth, but it's too soon to tell... the next few weekends (Friday - Saturday) will tell us if anybody new decided to stick around. Personally, I doubt it, because the NPE sucks, and CCP is not doing anything about it, publicly at least.
