Increase the shotgun dmg by 50% Increase the optimal range to 10m and the fall off to 20m
Please do the following so the shotgun is equip-able again.

Range is non existant, but I 1 shot mediums suits and 2 shot heavy suits, the damage is fine, just get closer.

MLT-good STD-good ADV-ok, unless going up against armor tanked frames, or anything that isn't STD but is still ok PRO-useless on anything that isn't STD. proposed fix-add 2 pellets to ADV, 4 to PRO, and the shotgun is now viable. Also, increase optimal to 8m, effective to 15

They don't 1-shot any suit outside of MLT or STD suits, or very poorly fitted higher level suits. A range increase is what they need to prevent people from jumping 5-yards back and then being out of your range, which defeats the point of having a CQC weapon like the shotgun

Damage needs a slight buff (10-15%) Range needs to be increased by ~2 meters |

As a shotty scout, I think damage is alright, but range could be added a bit. I think 4 or is optimal? Make it six and effective make it 10. No more. It's a weapon that requires you to go close to the enemy.
Also, the breach variant has slightly more range and can easily OHK most suits you'll encounter. Just get good with it. I do"alright" with it. |

Range increase first, -then- the damage increase if necessary... Not both at the same time... Doing two major changes to a weapon at once is how the Flaylock/Tac AR got nerfed into the ground and I suspect will make the Shotgun OP as hell.
Even still I'd also like to see the reticle/spread just a little more dispersed as I'm fairly certain that the HMG reticle is larger. Makes for easy missed shots at the ultra close range when all they have to do is side-step a meter or so.

Sg needs new iron sights, they need to increase the ads turning speed, and add a little bit of range.
Oh and no fire rate cap on the breach since it's basically a double barrel. |

Are you bloody kidding me? The shotgun is amazing, it's fine, leave it alone! If you buff it, they'll nerf it. The shotgun is probably the most balanced thing in this game. They just need to work on hit detection.

The SG need the same love that the HMG got. It need to hit everythig in the target circle, the operation and proficiency skills need to change as well (spread reduction? On a shotgun? Really). The rof increase is at least weird for a high alpha weapon.
So maybe change operation to rof increase (or something else) and proficiency to the usual 3% damage boost all other weapons get. Add a sharpshooter skill for thoose who think the SG should be a lasor prceise weapon...
Then the SG will be mostly fine maybe add a SLIGHT range buff. |

Shotgun is okay for PC, in fact quite often I see a scout shotgunner make the most kills on a tight city map. I mean granted they usually die just as much. On the whole I think it's viable though, you've just gotta be super sneaky |

This buff is extreme. A doubling of the range AND a 50% increase to damage is too much.
I think a range increase is necessary - it's too easy to backpedal out of shotgun range. But the damage increase as well would be silly.

message from Godin: No it is not. You muzzle load those, and you can put random **** in them and it still fires. Shotguns in Dust are shotguns, as they are a lever-action, and has a built in mag. |

just fix the hit detection, because I'm speed and damage tanking I need every shot to count, if I do get it first time I can (as suggested by other posts in this thread) one shot MLT and STD and 2 shot ADV.
Heavies can be two-shotted as well, this is with CRG and 3x complex, no proficiency. Going to try out the breach variant once I reach OP4, RoF really isn't an issue if you can one-shot kill and connect first time; however hit detection at the moment affects that a lot.
