Red-lines should be giant Shield barriers extended from the Warbarge done in a very New Eden way. Being behind the shield barrier doesn't allow you to shoot out of it and or receive fire from within. Allowing red-lined teams to full respawn, call in appropriate vehicles and dropships, group up and push out of the red-line and gives that side a fighting chance to come back.
The shield should only allow one pass through, meaning once you leave the safety of the shield barrier it cannot recognize you independently and let you run back into the red-line. Because the red-line shield barrier wouldn't allow damage to pass through from either side it will also nullify a lot of the players who choose to spend 80% of their game time in the red-line not contributing to their team, or truly getting the New Eden Experience of competition in the battlefield as they are not fully on it.
Furthermore if you are in the red-line for 2 minutes+ they can just blanket kick everyone from the match... Stopping the AFK in a "safe area" that hurts both sides of competition. It's of course not the players fault they take advantage of this, the blame lies with it even being a viable option.
Thanks for your consideration, Bethy. |

Ok but you have to share. 2.What if vehicles need to reload and the only supply depot that was left for them to use is in the redline? 3.This would make protostomping even worse. EG. Stuck on a team of randoms vs a squad of pubstomping AE....get redlined before even 15% of the MMC health is damaged, and get kicked because of players waiting at the redline for easy kills. (except for the kicked part this has happened to MEEE before) Oh and about the "New Eden experience" you claim this would be...you can reenter high sec at will, and it doesn't have a time limit, remember that.
1:nothx 2:Vehicles on both sides would be in the same situation and supply depots need to be a little more tactically thought out in general with the whole vehicle ammo thing. 3: Protostomping or dominating one side becomes an issue because after one side gets completely wiped, they never fully recover. Meaning they never get a full 16 Mercenaries back onto the battlefield in active position and are always at a massive disadvantage in numbers before any gear is factored in.
Allowing a shield that stops sniping and farming red-line spawns, will allow a close to Full Mercenary team that gets red-lined to spawn in and organize.. call in tanks, dropships, lav's and make a Push out. not roll over and give up in the red-line while half the team fights and gets farmed.
The New Eden Experience would be say a POS, where you can sit inside the shields and be protected but also not fire out of them. |

1.i know you want meee you're just playing hard to get. 2. "loltactics",if all supply depots out side the redline were destroyed vehicles would become paper weights. (With this idea.) 3. So kick the team already losing? Nice..not only would the losing team have lost gear, but they would also get booted and can't make up ANY loses....oh and being kicked means no SP. Noobs would stay noobs forever. Your idea favors vets only.
Kicking the people chilling in the safe red-line instead of helping their team? sure.. The kicking feature is more intended for AFK'ers but if they are performing the same as one? instead of getting back into the fight? makes sense... you can call it going "AWOL" even... |

deepfried salad gilliam wrote:or just remove the redline altogether and make it so if you control the null canons longer the do more dps and add multiple drop points on mcc front back middle pretty big ship their not to close and would stop spawn camping(somewhat)
protostopmping ends quicker and probably easier to code
so bascicaly it goes yeah having fun:) or oh no were getting proto stomped *stomping team holds all cannons from 1st minute till 5 minutes in game over move on collect reward
The red-line can be beneficial for both sides and offer more competition all around.
But as it is right now? it's built to be abused. |
