From the redline sniping requires some extremely high alpha and hit detection is screwy.
I had three matches where I acted as sniper support for my squad.
I was using the Proto Tac sniper because IMHO it's best suited for the ranges I was operating at.
Once I had good positioning, I was just mowing down people.
Hit detection wasn't an issue at all at those ranges.
A proto dude with a Rail Rifle is pinning my squad down?
Set up a headshot, double tap, and the guy is no more.
It was really fun, I don't think the sniper needs any special treatment, maybe a bit extra damage (a very slight amount, an extra 15-30)
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

Other than that there is no problem with the sniper imho.
Well, it really only happened to me once, and it was a scout strafing around at very high speeds.

I'm sure that the real snipers aren't the one's complaining on the forums, they're the one's doing their job and collecting ISK

Charge Sniper is great, the sheer alpha either kills the person, or makes him scram for cover.
Both are a win :D
