I was just fitting out a scout sniper, threw one of my 400 SPECIALIST adv sniper rifles, noticed you cant buy them ( anymore? or have they always been salvaged?) and why do i have so many, i only just leveld my sniper rifles from 2 - 5 + prof so i never would have bought them what other weapons were available on the market that have been removed? |

I'm pretty sure they've always been salvage, like the IA5 Tactical Scrambler Pistol.

It's funny... in pub matches, these 2 weapons are what I receive 90% of the time (no exaggeration).

the c-27 was once in the market back in open chrome. ccp took it off but had the same cpu & pg cost as the nt-511. ccp dropped the cpu and pg they remove it making it salvage only to keep people from buying they in numbers. |

LOL. That's another CCP fail then, because although they are only available as salvage, they are far from rare (as stated in my previous post).

My as well ask since it's related, is balac's n-17 salvageable or is just another weapon that's no longer available.

If the specialist sniper has reduced fitting costs with same stats an the NT-511, then it should be around 2K-3K more expensive. The inability to purchase it from the market shouldn't raise the price any, since it's possible to maintain your stock simply by playing pub matches.
Not sure about the pistol.

Tournament item I believe they are salvageable, as I have one Krin's(?) SMG (The tournament SMG). If that's salvageable, then I would imagine the Balac's N-17 is as well.

They're about the same as the sniper, most players that have been around for a while have 100-200 of each. |

C-27 Specialist Sniper Rifle is a salvage weapon, so it IS "rare" although not even closer to the dreamed Thale's TAR-07.
I've seen only once the N-17 Balac, I honestly have no idea if it can still be found or not. If it is, I assume it's the rarest weapon ever.

The IA5 is different than the specialist sniper rifle in the sense that it's not just a market-available pistol with reduced fitting costs.
For the IA5, it has a ROF equivalent to an ADV assault scrambler pistol (3rd fastest ROF in the pistol world), has the damage of a base scrambler (actually, fractionally less but it rounds up to the same damage), 1 less round in the magazine and a better ADS zoom than any pistol on the market. It should be worth a pretty penny, unless of course they release it in 1.8.... it was listed in the post about new weapon ranges.
https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=136371&find=unread
The IA5 is technically an ADV pistol, so not sure how the standard and pro versions of a tac pistol would differ.
One thing for sure though, I will definitely be finding out how it performs in the real world. The IA5 I've tried a few times and it's pretty nice if you are a pistol guy and like precision shots. |

Have you checked how much more expensive specialist items (that are available on the market) of the same tier are? That is what I based that on. They are not very "rare" because I pick up around 10-15 every day.
EDIT: I said 2-3K more expensive (than the NT-511). Not just 2-3K period, in case that is what you are implying. Maybe 4-5K is more realistic, but my point was that they're not highly valuable in my eyes, since everyone gets loads of them in salvage.

Yes, myself included. What I meant was, I'm not sure of their "value". Since they don't have reduced fitting costs, I wouldn't expect them to be of the same value as the sniper.

What I was trying to convey with this wording was that the IA5 pistol has many differences from things on the market, whereas my understanding of the specialist sniper rifle was that it had the same stats as another rifle, but just lower fitting costs. I did realize that the specialist rifle is also not available on the market. |

The IA5 is a variant pistol, so it'd be priced like the C-27 which is, after all, a variant SR. Cheaper, of course, owing to the IA5 being a sidearm.
Happily printing ISK with permahardeners and MLT blasters.
Just let me get a couple mil more before nerf, CCP!
