Yea, that would help if the community start helping along some blueberries instead of sitting on hands waiting on CCP to handle it.
And seriously how do you not know that MLT doesn't require skill to use when you are given MLT gear from the start? Some are hapless and some show promise.

C'mon Kirk, we hope these people have brains. When I first arrived in New Eden, I came to forums, looked up videos on youtube...google was my friend.
What you are asking for is to have CCP give folks an instruction manual on how to play. The only thing I see missing on CCP's end is a advertisement that would lead folks to the new player guides on these forums
But again, you think people would think of that themselves...

And seriously how do you not know that MLT doesn't require skill to use when you are given MLT gear from the start? Some are hapless and some show promise. People are trying to help. There are groups like the learning coalition which invite massive numbers of people to their channel to help them out, things like Musta Tornius' new player guide which recently received a community spotlight, some tutorial videos on youtube, etc. But the existence of this material is not an excuse for such a poor NPE. Would it really be so hard to do a proper tutorial?
And what would you consider proper? I'm not excusing this but really what you guys are expecting here?

Ok, I hear ya.
Hopefully the community helps out more. It seems that D-Uni is a done deal. I thought of before having coordinated squad running nights with noobs if the word could get out there. Get some guys together who would do some pubs with them and teach them the basics.
I would love to see CCP back those type of efforts by the community by placing that notification on the green screen before you hit X or Enter to come to your character choice screen. We need more information flowing through Dust that makes folks aware of such things.

Shutter Fly wrote:I understand that this game is a bit different from your average FPS, and that can be a bit confusing at first, but I still have some trouble seeing why people are having so much trouble with the basic mechanics other than laziness. I make my case with a tale of an inexperienced, yet inquisitive merc, long long ago, by the name of Shutter Fly.
This is what I believe as well. While some things can be difficult (knowing what skills to advance for the style of play you want and understanding all the skills in Dropsuit Command etc) for some mercs, I think the majority should be able to be figured out with some common sense and as you said, a willingness to learn. And if that fails you...google is right at your fingertips
