Everybody is running around trying to go Nova Knives only, but we often overlook its practical uses: taking out snipers, destroying equipment, killing hackers, neutralizing enemies that are bleeding out... And the list goes on.
Just remember guys, thinking outside the box is good, but sometimes you should look at things practically too.

Anyways no, you don't run faster. It is just the animation. Your screen goes forward and it wobbles more from side to side. Couple with the fast hand animations it appears you run faster. This is not the case.
Of note, the Sniper Rifle appears to be faster than.the AR because of this illusion.
