The trick to enjoying the protostomp is to make it so you don't lose anything when they kill you. Running militia will make it difficult to kill them, but their suits are infinitely times more expensive than your free suit ;) |

Fair point. Maybe I need to put some points into RE then I could become a one woman killer of anything on the ground. :P
When I play as a sniper, I'm more likely to be nearer to the opponents redline than my own.

Funny thing is, when in a organized squad with voice I (we) rarley get proto stomped, just a bloody good game.
I wonder why that is... ;-)
However, when playing solo or in a disorgazed squad (sadly much more common) and facing a good stomping, my focus shifts 100% from winning to inflicting as much ISK loss for the enemy as possible.
I usually do sniping, but also enjoy the ragdoll effects when blasting a proto at point blank range with my FG.
Based what I read here, I think I will give the MD and remote explosives a try.
(Perhaps also the heavy with RR)
Sounds fun :-)

Good choice is militia heavy with any 'Nikkon' Forge Gun.

I usually run what i am getting killed by, i like my isk as much as the next person and finish lots of games in std only gear. But I don't let anyone win that easy, if i get killed by a proto suit or weapon i'm pulling out mine, and usually what happens is the would be proto stompers change suits because they are losing too much money. Stupid proto users on my team taking objectives and kicking pro squads out of their shiny suits - Said by nobody ever.

Remotes and plasma cannon are wonderful.
Set your traps up ahead of time. Make sure your passive scan range is up to par as well. Start your hack and watch the radar. Their picket forces will come around eventually. Wait for them and detonate for a dropsuit to go airborne. always at least entertaining.
The key to personally beating a protostomp is to not take things personal. Proto stuff is in the game and it isn't going anywhere for the foreseeable future.

Militia forge gun with a full militia fit. Cheap as can be and if you are a good aim you can splatter those protos.
Its a dirty tactic but I like it. |

Bag them and tag them, doesnt matter if its a tiny hole in their head, a slice through their neck or their entire right side blown off. If it hurts, it works more or less. And yes, I LOVE hate mail from people. It makes me smile.
