I'm not a payed QA tester, but I'm taking time to point out bugs with YOUR game, at least acknowledge them every 2 weeks. Other than the "square not working" and "RDV yoyoing", these should be pretty easy to reproduce. I don't need you guys to tell me its being fixed, or when its being fixed, or even that its being fixed; I just want some sort of indication that you actually read it, know about it, and that I'm not just wasting my time trying to point out these issues. It shouldn't be that hard to say "we know about" to more than 4 threads every 2 weeks. Reporting bugs isn't quite pointless, but they do go ignored for a very long time. CCP is aware of most of the problems with the game, or at least always say they are. Due to a small dev team, a lot of holidays, countless bugs and perhaps not knowing how to fix a lot of them, it takes them forever to fix them. I've pointed out a lot of bugs both on the feedback section and by sending in tickets. On the forums they usually get ignored or troll posted and the tickets usually get a generic "We are aware of the problem and are taking steps to fix it..."
This game is still in "beta" if you ask me. A lot of the issues persist because of CCPs care bear mentality of nerfing and buffing things due to the forum QQ'ing, which is only a small percentage of the communities input. CPMs really don't help the issue either. More often than not they get things done that benefit their play style and not what's overall best for the player base as a whole. I don't see many devs around playing the game either, so other than the communities input how would they know what's wrong with the game?
It's a back and forth battle with CCP and the player base. They nerf something then buff something else. If that doesn't work they nerf the thing they buffed and buff the thing they nerfed. This rarely ends in balance. What I think they need is a small group of players, much like the CPMs, that will be honest with what's actually going on in the game. This whole "forum feedback" reliance just ends up with even more unbalanced aspects to everything. |

This whole "forum feedback" reliance just ends up with even more unbalanced aspects to everything. Most of what you just said is completely unrelated with them just acknowledging a bug report. You're right. Instead of QQ'ing about things I like to come up with ideas on how to make it better. If it's posted on the forums, or relayed in a ticket the devs know about it. Simple as that. They're not going to post on EVERY topic saying "We are aware" or include EVERY bug report in the weekly update. Instead of saying "Please acknowledge my bug reports" come up with ideas on how it could be relayed better. QQ post is QQ post, idea post is good. |
