It sounds corny but getting into role playing can help make the game more interesting. You could interview CEOs about changes in the game or fits. Squad up with a group and run specific fits that play off of each other in unexpected ways. I like to join battles solo and then jump into squads, you never know who you'll meet or what you'll hear.
Find some new blood and try to help them enjoy the game by showing them what you like and tell them what you do for fun. Go to the EVE forums and read their problems and laugh at their tears. Try and find an EVE pilot and just see what happens. Use your least favorite weapon or a fit that is difficult and try to make it work and them come here and provide feedback on how it could improve.
Try and scam someone or actually infiltrate a corp with the mission of corp theft. Try to bring down a corporation from the inside. Go into FW and do some selective griefing for the specific purpose of extracting tears. Talk smack on the forums and try to start a war with another corp. I hope some of these suggestions help. There is things to do if you use your imagination.
If you don't play EVE and you have a decent computer you could befriend a pilot, use their 21 day free trial code and have them give you the PLEX or ISK when you pay the first month just to see what all the fuss is about. That is 81 days of game time for $20. I would offer you that deal but I have to let my subscription go because I have to take care of my grandmother because she has Alzheimer's, they don't have internet or even cable. At least she is sweet and kind.

Disclaimer: This is NOT a QQ thread, and I'm NOT leaving (invested to much effort.)
I'm honestly a little surprised it took me so long with the little content this game has, which says a lot good for DUST! But seriously, am I just meant to lobby up all day? Cant do PC, can't explore a planet, no story or any sort of lore to keep my mind ticking. Would LOVE to play the market but that's not happening any time soon (I doubt it's in 1.8).
Basically what is there to do apart from que-up and fight the same maps, granted with different sockets. But the same maps over and over again.
Serious question, what is there to do? Open to all the community, CCP, CPM what do you do in dust when dust is boring? Uh....theres 15,000 years of Imperial history....and that's just mainstream Amarr......mate there is an entire universe to explore. So much out there if you go looking for it. Show me where it says that in Dust please.
DUST and EVE share history so any lore/history in EVE transfers directly to DUST. Poor attitudes and pessimistic outlooks hurt us more that any thing else. Try being positive and it will make a difference.

Try being positive and it will make a difference. Most dust players don't play EvE, how is the majority expected to learn the EvE universe within DUST 514? Your right, poor attitudes do hurt, but an ill ability to see out of a shadow hurts more. Try looking at the OP from the angle of the average player.
You don't have to play EVE to read about it and learn the lore. Every PS3 has access to channels unless they bare locked.

COVERT SUBTERFUGE wrote:The Robot Devil wrote:It sounds corny but getting into role playing can help make the game more interesting. This is what I did with COVERT. I wanted a Minmatar merc, I want to spec him into Minmatar suits, weapons and equipment and I want to farm a **** load of Republic gear. Since making this merc, I've taken on the scout role (and LOVE it), have found a renewed appreciation for skirmish and have started to get into FW to accumulate aforementioned gear. I have a lot of fun on this guy. Seriously though, if you are bored within a medium classified as 'entertainment', you're doing something wrong. Life's too short to waste time on something that isn't providing you with some measure of fulfillment and/or reward.
This game has things to do and different ways to play if you are willing to try new things. I am glad you tried and liked something that is out of your comfort zone or different from your normal play style. The light class is a nice change of pace, I try to play a light suit at least once a match when I am able to play. It takes getting used to because the class is so different from medium but it is more satisfying when you do well.

Yeah it's funny. Everyone is a blue dot to someone else. People play this game as a shooter like COD but they should be play this game like DUST. As mercenaries we fight for the reasons we want to fight for. No one can be trusted because unlike other shooters they have to potential to affect your game besides just changing your kdr.
As this game unfolds into the game it is going to become more and more things will affect more mercs. Almost everyone wants some pve but do we want pvevp? If pve doesn't allow me to engage other mercs for fun while they pve then I really don't want it in the game. The market we need is PvP and so should pve. Is the community ready for nonconsenting PvP?
I am worried that DUST bunnies are going to want pve to be an area where their squad can go and farm drones uninterrupted, I hope and pray this isn't how it's going to be. If our pve is going to only allow co-op missions with no chance of PvP then that truly sucks. Sorry to be so long winded, I've been worried about that for a while now.
