I have been pondering over something for a long while now. Vehicle sales. No not price reduction. On some level many players already do this. Remember calling in bpo lavs for your friends? Well why not an incubus or proto madrugar. Effectively you would only need 1 player per squad with vehicle skills, he calls in heavy sp vehicles for you, you give him isk. This is a loophole in both SP and vehicle deployment that I think all decent squads should employ.
For example: Manboar wants to fly incubus but has no skills :( Judge ;) has skills Judge calls in incubus for Manboar and one for himself Manboar pays judge 500,000. Almost end of match, judge recalls. Next match repeat, but no payment unless the drop ship is lost. Judge + Manboar pew pew

This is sort of why I'm in favor of not being allowed to pilot any vehicle unless you have appropriate skills, even if you hacked it. If you hacked the vehicle and don't have skills to use it, then have the option to recall it and let it go to your inventory where it either waits to be traded on the player market or for you to get the skills to use it.

I think hacking vehicles requires a bit more effort, so maybe you should be able to fly/drive them. But I see where you're going and I wasn't far from thinking thats the only way ccp can stop this.

What if they added more passive vehicle skills and made them cheap in SP? These skills would be obviously good and all dedicated vehicle players would get them. Along the lines of the old weaponry skill that gave 10% damage.
And perhaps good bonuses on the skills that unlock the vehicles too.
That way if you don't have SP in vehicles you'll have a harder time keeping up. |

Yeah, it is easily possible. If someone were feeling generous, they could just open up their mics and yell "free tanks!" and call in high-SP requiring vehicles for all the orphan children ala War Santa.
It should require the skills in the Tank to operate it or make it only the driver can operate it period. It does get rid of the great situations where the driver is killed by a Sniper shot and his squaddie friend drives it to a safer position for them but it also stops the "I really wish I could call in this orbital strike without having to worry about the Joker riding off with the Batmobile." An even trade in my book. |

In my opinion you shouldn't be able to drive this stuff if you don't have the skills.

This is not really a issue. Cause having 6 people calling in their vehicles in at once is much quicker then 1 guy queing 6 vehicles by himself. Cause 1 player can only order 1 vehicle at a time which means that the opposition could bring in more vehicles and overrun you due to the shorter time required. Another thing is when a vehicle gets destroyed you would have ask the original owner (which probs didnt got blown up) to hop out, call in a new vehicle for you and so on. The whole progress is not worth it apart from giving a mate here and then a sneak peek on whats possible in terms of fitting.
I shall show you a world, a world which you cant imagine, a world full off butthurt n00bs at the other end of my gun

There was a huge uproar about vehicle locks and a lot of people mentioned that you should only be able to pilot vehicles you have the skills for.
This is essentially the same concept.

Thank you for your opinion it'll be stored with all the other things that CCP shouldn't be taking note of
I hack it. I drive it.
Can't drive it? let me recall and snatch that sweet maddie for later or for trade.
the latter isn't possible(yet) so the former is fair play. |

If your team lets 1 enemy player call in 5 tanks back to back without destroying them you deserve what you get.

Ha, I was in a domination with a squad one time when the enemies called in an entire pack of Kaalakiota HAVs and CreoDron Breach HAVs. One of them jumped out to kill me, so I killed him and then took his Tank I then proceeded to destroy almost every tank they called in with the OP Railgun on my own.
