When are we going to get the logistic dropship ingame ? Almost two month have pass, and IGÇÖm really missing them, and frankly, I think it is necessary to reintroduce them as soon as possible alongside Logistic LAV.
The fact is as simple as that, if we get the logistic vehicles back, the vehicle teamplay is going to be more rewarding than the tank spamming. This would also mean that we need WP for repairing vehicles with vehicles and not with infantry repair-tool (to avoid the WP cheat), and also have WP for using mobile spawning device on vehicles. So what do you (players and CCP) think about this simple idea ? |

I hope so. The Myron is such a terrible support ship. It's impossible to fit any turret with any sort of tank at all. Hopefully the increased health of the Logi DSs as well as increased CPU/PG will be worth using.
I would like to know what kind of bonuses the ships are going to get, either decreased spawn times for mCRUs or defense resistances.

CCP would need to give them a workable mission first.
They don't know what to do with dropships yet, and they might not be able to until we get larger maps or new game modes that require more strategy than "Bigger DPS".
The ADS is a cludge built to distract pilots from realizing that there is previous little reason to fly other than personal enjoyment. |

We have them (I have a Sagaris in my hangar), unfortunatly, it make the game crash when I go on the "skills requirement"

Vehicles repair tool, I have test this and it is as difficult to play, as it is rewarding to have a hatemail because you repair a Maddy just in front of the ennemy tank |

I miss all of the old vehicles. I only ever got to use the Surya for about a week or less before it was taken out.
I also miss the LLAV`s and logi dropships. |

I hope when they do come back they're not slower than standard dropships are right now. It feels like ADS got standard speed and standard got LDS speed.

The current ADS isn't really a viable assult craft with a mere four seats. CCP Blam duct taped a pilot turret on and called it an "Assault" in an attempt to make the dropship relevent in a world where all that matters is DPS.
What characterizes an assult craft? The ability to carry a large number of troops. In that sense the logistics ships were more assault than the ADS which is better classified as a gunship.
We were given "transport points" some weeks ago, indicating that CCP thinks that transport is in our mission. How many of you pilots get much from this? I'd hazard very few and very little, but not for want of desire.
So what sort of transport are we looking at? In my mind there are three missions:
1) Initial deployment 2) Making a coordinated assault on a defended objective 3) Making surgical insertion of troops on far flung objectives with no uplinks.
Every one of these requires communication and coordination which is sorely lacking in this game. You might want to haul a full load to a distant objective at the start of a match, but good luck doing that outside of an already formed squad. Nobody's listening on team channel and there is no other way to advertise your services. Add the 15 delay for entry and you find nobody wants to wait for a ride.
It gets worse once the match has started. Everyone is coming in at the closeset uplink and hiking the rest of the way. This leads to a trickle assault that generaly ends up getting cut down. We could load up a ship today and drop six troops right on top of an objective to wreck havoc, but the trick is assembling them. The dead must spawn near our ship and the living need to make whatever long hike to get to us. All that coordination has to occur over voice coms with the attendent directional confusion. Imagine being able to designate an attack target and your pickup position to the whole team. Further imagine your assault passengers being able to know when to make the jump. That's going to require some new game mechanics before it's feasible.

I'm hoping they move the logo role to MAVs and make LAVs scout only. Two variants of each. The dropship can then be a rapid deployment vehicle with the ADS providing better maneuverability with pilot weapon and the other variant still provide the mobile CRU but not be classified as general logo but more specifically to troop deploy. Maybe give another bonus to this specific role.
Even better, just make two variants of the ADS, one with built in afterburner and the other with the CRU, both have a pilot turret.

message from Godin: I would take the decreased spawn time over the resistances. all logi vehicles should get base resistances imo. |
