I think teamwork will be OP in 1.8.
With the TTK increasing, and cloaking, and dmg mods possibly being split into shields or armor. We, as infantry, will have to make choices on who we think we can kill and which engagements are in our favor to win. Having a minmatar assault with a CR (assuming prof affects armor only) and 2x dmg mods that burn armor, and you see a Cal heavy coming your way, either pray you have fluxes or turn around, run, and find the nearest Gal heavy to burn.
I dunno, maybe I'm being too optimistic, but I am picturing a game where picking and choosing favorable match-ups will be much more important come 1.8. That the increased TTK will affect weapon dmg profiles to the point that using the guy's strengths next to you will matter significantly and squad composition will become a determing factor for winning. |

If we see reduced AA and bullet magnetism dropped completely, then speed ranking will actually be viable as it was in pre 1.4 days.
If it stays the same, Amarr heavy will be best followed by Gallente, Caldari and Minmatar in that order.
Depends on the weapon.
Caldari #1 for FG. Dat 3rd dmg mod doe
Or a speed tanked minmatar heavy? Could be very troublesome. |

Caldari will be the best FGer though. No question.
I haven't crunched the numbers, but if the heavies mirror the other classes, the minmatar should still be able to shield/speed tank most effectively. I dunno though, on paper it looks pretty underwhelming. Will be interesting as you stated, to see what the 'ninja' buffs are to AA, hit detection, strafing speeds, etc.... |
