Just looked in the new "code bazaar" section, and it states in the rules that scamming is prohibited and will be dealt with harshly.
Yep, really sounds like New Eden right there.
Little to no link with EVE and CCP holding the FPS players' hand - we're really breaking boundaries here huh?

Scamming is not allowed with codes because there are no mechanics to support such a trade.
Much like in EVE, where scamming is not allowed on character and GTC trading.

Just like you can't scam when you are selling Eve Online characters...
Scamming in-game: 100% permissible and encouraged.
Scamming out of game, with in game resources: Not encouraged, often punished.

Eve Online has similar "no scamming" rules:
Quote:Scamming in any way or form through buddy invites is prohibited and violations of this rule will be handled accordingly by EVE Online Customer Support. Action will be taken against players who violate this rule and sanctions may include warnings or bans of the offending accounts.
Also the Codes are bought. And real money scams are prohibited even in Eve Online.

Ugh I guess it makes sense, but in my views all forms of scamming should be on the table unless people are selling these codes through eBay for real money.
Imo if they're buying them with ISK, I see no problem with a scam.

Arkena Wyrnspire and Ripley Riley summed it up.
Scamming and Griefing is permitted in New Eden when there are mechanics in place for sensible people to avoid getting Scammed or Griefed. That is why AWAXing was fixed by adding roles for getting people into PC matches. The roles provided a counter, without making AWAXing impossible.
As Arkena Wyrnspire says, there are no mechanics to control the trade of codes, so CCP is a lot stricter about their exchange.
Also as Ripley Riley says, out of game transactions are treated differently than in game transactions.

ETC codes scamming in eve is STRICTLY PHROBITIED where as plex ingame item scamming are not.
Bottom line is that as long as the item involves something existing in real life (the code is printed on a card so it counts) for something that will be put into the game (aka codes/tokens) you are not allowed to scam it; this is a serious legal issue and not a game policy.
