So I always find it boring as hell reading or hearing people talk about where they want to put their SP and why and all of that nonsense.
That being said, I am actually at a crossroads at 7.6mil SP. I have 3 in pretty much every important core skill book except for the one that breeds the KinKat which is only 2 and rep is only 1.
Basically, Do I continue to go into things like system hack, electronics, engineering, profile dampening, etc. for the % bonus to base stats? Or do I pursue things like heavy suits or scout suits or new weapons?
In your experience, where did you wish you put points in at some point? I hear a mix of "get 5 proficiency with your best weapon" (which I'm at 3 in proficiency for RR for the 9% damage bonus), "Go heavy so you can you use forge", and "Get your CPU, PG, and Dampening at 5 first.
Appreciate the feedback. |

Get shield extenders to 5, that's the only type of extender worth crap, you get 2x the HP for less than 2x the fitting costs.
Speed helps everyone, get that to 5, dampening and such to 5 only if you are a scout.
Weapon upgrades to 5 for complex dmg mods, the only ones that are worth it, just like shields.
Don't get ANYTHING else in that tree to 5 until you have at least triple your current SP, it's just not worth it to go past level 4.
Otherwise, get a couple weapons to proto for variety and nerf-hammer insurance. Prof 3 is fine on your core weapons, no need to go to 5 yet unless you use just the one weapon 95% of the time.
Thanks, appreciate it. So I don't run scout so having 5 in dampening is likely useless although I have been "dabbling". I use LP for damage mods and complex shields often so I know what you mean there.
I didn't think about doing more weapons for nerf insurance. I do snipe, AR, RR, and Scrambler Pisol. Maybe investing in one more to 3 isn't a bad idea. |

Thanks for all of the advice so what I think I am going to do is:
1) Move to 3 with a new weapon for just a bit more variety and I'm thinking the mass driver right now.
2) stick it out with the logi path for now and not go into another suit
3) Get shields and armor to 4 as it is at 3 now
4) Although it wasn't mentioned, I am going to get rep tool to 3 as it is at 1
5) Although it wasn't mentioned I am at 2 with grenades so I'm going to move to 3
6) Move to 3 in RE as well, although this was not mentioned
7) Then start moving toward 4 in electronics and engineering
8) then 5 in dampening and hacking
After that much, I will begin looking into Heavy Suits and running with a forge for better AV. Followed by moving to scout fits and exploring that path more.
Not a vehicle person. So staying out of that path for a while.
I have no issue with grinding out LP for proto equivelents so being 3 is typically sufficient. Not to mention I got drunk one night and bought 200k of Aurum. I can afford my share of proto stuff.
I do have my two weapons of choice where I want them in that the RR (Mid/Long Range) is at 5 (proto) and 3 proficiency and 3 at reload (I think that will suffice). I also have AR (Short/Mid range) at 5 (proto) and 2 proficiency. I have sniper at 3, Scrambler pistol at 1, SMG at 1, combat rifle at 1, and Scrambler Rifle at 1. I have 3 for Min Logi. obviously I wanted to explore some weapons.
Again, I really appreciate everyones advice, it's definitely helped me prioritize and I didn't realize that level 5 costs as much as moving level 1 to 4. It makes more sense to goto 4 where base bonuses matter. |
