That being said, I am actually at a crossroads at 7.6mil SP. I have 3 in pretty much every important core skill book except for the one that breeds the KinKat which is only 2 and rep is only 1.
Basically, Do I continue to go into things like system hack, electronics, engineering, profile dampening, etc. for the % bonus to base stats? Or do I pursue things like heavy suits or scout suits or new weapons?
In your experience, where did you wish you put points in at some point? I hear a mix of "get 5 proficiency with your best weapon" (which I'm at 3 in proficiency for RR for the 9% damage bonus), "Go heavy so you can you use forge", and "Get your CPU, PG, and Dampening at 5 first.
Appreciate the feedback. With only 7.6 mil SP I would definitely advise you don't take any skill to level 5 except it if is to unlock something. The reason being is Level 4 to Level 5 is the same amount of SP as Level 0 to Level 4, so you are doubling your SP investment for only marginal gains.
Also I would have to ask what suit you really want to specialize first. You mention both heavy and scouts suits, but if you go heavy suit for example skills like profile dampening, scan amplification, and precision enhancement don't really do anything for you and kinetic catalyzation is near pointless since the skill itself only provides a bonus to kin cat modules which you really shoudn't use on a heavy unless you're just trying to be super unique and niche.
As for Electronics and Engineering, only level those up as you need them, for many fits you may realize you don't need them all the way to 5 each.
So here's what I say, if you're not to level 3 in your suit specialization yet do that. Then make sure your armor upgrades and shield upgrades are at 4. Then work on getting some proto level modules and upgrading Electronics/Engineering as needed. Then take your weapon proficiency from 3 to 4. Then grab a few levels in Systems Hacking. Then get your proto suit.
