This quote from the equipment changes thread has me confused. I cannot find any clarification.
Some people think that by "snapshot" Frame means that once you scan you take a picture and do not track the red dots. If this is correct what happens with passive scans and multiple active scans?
To me however it just means that scans are now immediate but still track red dots. If this is correct what happens when red dots leave the scan angle? Do they fall off?
Curious if anyone has anymore information.

I think the snapshot just means everything caught in the area will be tagged for X amount of seconds depending on your scanner.
Longer charge time as payoff for not needing to spin around like an *******. Fair tradeoff. |

sounds like static dots are marked as "the enemy players last known location" as in it wont actively track players at all making the name active scanner redundant since its neither of the two. |

Snapshot means that it will mark everyone who is in front of the scanner, based on angle and distance, and track them for X amount of seconds. the wording sounds weird, but it means the scan happens instantly instead of taking a second or two as it does now, which allows people to spin around and get a 360 scan. |

Should have used a spray paint analogy.
Although a real snapshot (actual military term when hastily firing a guided counter attack (as opposed to a counter measure two different thing) would be neat instead.

It means time to scan will be almost instant so all targets in aoe will be tagged for 5 secs. Scan time will be too short to move / will not tag other targets if you move, only where you initially scanned.
If it doesn't track the enemy then it makes the 5s-15s duration useless.
Tracking will likely work as it does now - if the target moves, even out of range of scanner, then it will continue to track.

id just run 3 or 4 scanners then on the same suit. |

I think I'd actually be ok with that. I may run 2 rep tools

This is going to be the response of several logis. Even with 4 scanners you're only scanning 270-¦ at most at one time. It will be hard to maintain all those timers/different precisions, at least much harder than scanning is now. |
