In memory of our recently departed friend MAG, as a favor to all of my friends and former enemies in the Shadow War, I have taken the liberty of creating the "MAG Legacy" chat channel for all MAG vet's to congregate and squad in. Regardless of your SP count, regardless of your PMC, regardless of your corporation, regardless of your skill level in MAG, everyone is welcome to join. Chat about MAG days gone by or squad up with MAG vets and show Dust players what skills gained in the Shadow War are like, it's up to you. I only ask that we keep the recruitment messages to a minimum for the next week in respect for our dearly departed MAG. If you wish to recruit, do so with people you get into your squad.
Once again, all PMC's are welcome. New players recently arriving from MAG are especially encouraged to join, as I'm sure you'll need some orientation and perhaps a new place to call home. Plenty of MAG vets live here now and they can show you the ropes.

Happy to have you. Obviously this chat will not fill over night, but it is a corporation neutral chat channel where no one feels pressured into joining any particular corporation due to who runs it. As stated before, all ex-MAG players are welcome, as are any people who wish to see what MAG-style teamwork looks like.

I have decided to immortalize my MAG disk in a plaque that will hang on my wall for the rest of my life. Or until MAG 2 comes out in 2050. MAG gave us a different perspective on EVERY game we play, FPS or not

It does get better, but it's best to play conservatively when first starting out. As with any game, learn the maps first and foremost. Learn the locations of all the important hack points and watch your teammates to see what strategies they use to deal with different threats. And above all else, BE CAREFUL HOW YOU SPEND YOUR SP. Core skills that passively increase your HP or PG/CPU are invaluable and always a good choice when you are in doubt of what to do next.
Next, make sure you find people in-game to squad with who can give you advice. The squad finder is great for this as it drops you straight into a squad. There is a lot to learn about this game for a beginner and having someone fill you in on things while playing a match is far less tedious than spending hours reading it all for yourself.
I could go on all night with generalized **** like this, but I'll leave it at that for now. Good luck and "Welcome to New Eden".
Edit: The HMG is a CQC master, to take it out keep your distance unless you are using a high alpha damage weapon like a shotgun and can sneak up on them.
