I like the fact that you can do this and must take a tactical position to call one in, it adds a real element to gameplay. What does need fixed is the initial spawn in at match start. Both teams need to have a CHANCE to be fully spawned in before anyone can call in vehicles.

I have found the formula about this matter:

To be honest I feel your pain but as the whole vehicle deployment mechanic is right now IT IS LEGIT if your shiny new tank is blasted before it gets dropped in.
In my humble opinion I say we scrap RDV`s all together. (Those big dropships that we have SO many problems and bugs with)
I say it should work like this - You call in a vehicle, the game gives you the usual deployment marker showing you where it will eventually come down and then the vehicle HOT DROPS in just like the installations do in OMS.
Wooomsshhhhh BOOOOM - and there is your tank. Deployed in a second or two. No more waiting around for bolas`s and what ever the other one is called.
That being said, since I got my proto rail I'm loving the fact I can sometimes take out the RDV before it cloaks up and get a cool 150 points. |

On many maps you can still lose your vehicle to some rail tanker even if you call it in as far back in the redline as possible. More of an issue of map design though.

I really hope you're running for CPM again. You are literally the only current one that regularly posts on the forums. I don't even know how many there are as the others barely post. For a link between players, the CPM should be more active here. It would also be nice to have a CPM tag on threads to show if they are still alive.

There IS no safe place for that. That's not an entirely fair assesment. It depends on the map. Yes, I can attest myself to the difficulty of RDV calls under those conditions. However, I would suggest not deferring to vehicles under those circumstances and using dampened uplink fits to regain a foothold deeper into the periphery of the map before calling in vehicles. 1.8 cloaking devices are going to do wonders for combating red-line engagements.

And Troll did say to thie newbarry "thou shall not drive!" and with a press of R1, the bolas then burst into flames and crushed thie newbarry as it dawned to the ground. and thie newbarry did rage quit, and relinquished his console of Dust 514 only to flee to the false confidence that is call of duty.
in all seriousness, this is a problem. red line tanks are why i hardly fly anymore. no matter how far i am in the red line, it dosent matter what building i hide behind. they know all the right positions to make sure you never use a vehicle, "anti-fun" as someone once called it.
i think the answer to the red line enigma is to A; remove the red line and only use it as map boundaries. and B; rebuild MCCs from scratch. have them land on the ground, make the inside a safe zone rather than just a spawn point. give the MCC a big garage where players can call in maybe five vehicles without the use of an RDV. players can still call a vehicle anywhere on the map, they just risk losing it when the RDV comes in.
I'd say walk in my shoes for a day, but you probably still won't understand.

Actually, there are no maps that are like that. You take a look at the redline tank, view the terrain, then call in a tank from a spot they have no vision.... Kind of simple really.

I agree. Under those conditions, calling in a vehicle is just painting yourself with a big target that says, "hey shoot me". You want to somehow sneak around the pushing force to drop a uplink on the other side. More than likely, 98 percent of the team are all redline rushing, which leaves the objective and other areas of the map open.

I agree that the RDV pilot need sent back to school and the glitches have to go. I like your idea, perhaps for several seconds a beam of light can shoot from the sky over the landing spot similar to the RDV to prevent friendly casualties and alert the enemy.
