So, according to the related items section in the info on the weapons, there actually is an Imperial Breach Scrambler Pistol in the prototype variant, yet I can't seem to find it anywhere in the market? Am I missing something? I personally love scrambler pistols, even if they don't get a lot of love from many players, they've got the ability to have one of the highest DPS outputs in the game for any weapon and it's a real shame to not have access to one of the variants, even if it is in the underwhelming breach category of weapons.
CCP, can we get this thing in the market if it isn't already there? And if it is, where can I actually find it? Is it an item only available through one of the mercenary packs or something of the sort? |

I actually like the Breach Pistols, and would love to have a Proto level of one. Never came across one yet though, so +1

Well, good on you for enjoying a very underused weapon! I want to give these things my love, but the breach versions just don't have the damage output for me, especially compared to the Carthium. I've only got proficiency lv 3 on em, so no where near the max damage output and even with three damage mods it's just not quite enough. Sure, a headshot makes for a wonderful head popping experience, but pulling off a headshot on a guy strafing/bunny hopping around with a controller is a bit much for an average player like myself.
I'm just curious, how do you actually play with them? I've heard a few people run them with scouts, but I don't think I've ever noticed a breach scrambler pistol in the kill feed. :/ I've only picked it up a few times myself, range just doesn't cut it, but I did find a rather funny glitch. Stacking three damage mods on one and getting a headshot sends the enemies ragdolling across the map XD Least it did for me, was freakin' hilarious watching a heavy just shoot across the canyon. |

I also would like to see a proto variant of the breach Scrambler pistol. Additionally, a proto variant of the burst ScP would be pretty smooth as well. Big +1 from me.
I've never seen the breach proto variant in any pre-fit AUR suits, or in the Amarr loyalty store so I'm not sure where one can get it....

*leans over and hits Llast on the shoulder* "You know what this dude's talking about...? Anyone we know use the breach ScP?"
I favor the standard (KLO, viz) and burst ScP myself. I've toyed with the breach and I used it best when getting the drop on folks. In CQC using a scrambler as a scout means mega strafing, especially with the breach. Other tactics, include relying on the passive scanning to line up your shots before your target rounds a corner. |

Monk (up there ^) Is a damn fine shot with the pistol. Always has things covered, great scout to roll with.
As a scout I run my Breach in a few ways.
Back up Weapon Breach pistol with my Nova Knives - NK suffer from the problem of back peddling, onece someone starts running back and firing at you you are not going to catch them before they shoot you dead. Breach has enough stopping power in a shot to finnish most suits that survived the NK hit. Same goes for the Shotgun.
As a backup to another pistol - Scramblers devastate shields, rather than reload after the initial unloading, I switch to the breach for extra punch on the armour.
Head Shots, and Primary Weapon
I am a decent shot, not fantastic. Headshots are something I find easier with the Breach, the slower rate of fire forces a bit of patience in lining up the shot. Spamming shots of the other ScP against bunny hoppers and strafers often leads to unfortunate reload timing Measured timed shots land more often for me.
I run these without damage mods (never skilled into them) and still find it a useful weapon, though I think a bit of a buff to damage would be in order for the Breach, to make it a truly viable variant when compared to the other ScP.

Thanks for the feedback! I might just try to pick up the breach again, haven't tested it in ages and now that I've got my proto minimatar scout, I might be able to make it work with my nova knives, though I'll probably just end up burning through a million isk... Maybe we could squad up sometime?
Speaking of scouts, I'm curious as to whether either of you guys run with the passive scans upgraded and such, precision, range, etc? I'm trying to spec into the three in that tree and I'm not really noticing a difference. Only have advanced so far, but even with two advanced precision enhancers, I'm not able to detect anything outside of my line of sight from what I've noticed. Not sure if it's worth it at this point, even heavies a few meters away aren't showing up. |

Thanks for the kind words, Llast, and your breach strategies seem very sound; I hadn't thought of these!
You know, Bojo is a pistol master and was challenging us to use the breach this week - he'd be a good guy to chime in if he see's this.
I picked up the breach again today to give it some quality time, based on reading this thread, and I agree it's in need of a bit more damage or a slight ROF increase (125 RPM?) The accuracy is nectar-of-the-gods sweet for hip-fire on this baby though. I downed a guy in a LAV with it (the driver).... so, so sweet for me. So, so bitter for him....
I'll squad with you anytime, and most scouts in-game will, I'd wager. Just join the "Scouts United" channel.

We should squad, as Monk says the Scouts United channel is a great place to share info and put to gather a squad. We should round up a ninja cowboy squad and get some full scout action going. I'll send you a mail when I get on, and add you to contacts. I run pistols on my Gal Scout, but I also run a second account that is Minja, though I run NK/Flaylock instead of pistols. We'll see what we can do to minimize your costs for running fits. Honestly until the changes in 1.8 hit you are probably better off running with ADV. Also if you get a few free suits from the Shinobi event it will help cut the costs down , though we won't see those until the 10th it seems I should warn you my play style is Embrace the Death, it's a bit different from others, just ask Monk
I absolutely recommend passive scanning range and precision to be at the very least skilled up to III. Range is essential, I prefer to not run the active scanner, because it gives a helpful tip that you are there, (and I really really like to blow things up with RE) You are not alone in your experience with Passive Scan not picking people up, and a few scouts have done some testing of this. I find less issues in structures than I do in hilly regions, lag is also suspected to cause some issues. Right no it's up for some debate. Lately I have not had many issues with mine on either character. My recommendation is to prioritize range over precision, simply because the base precision i good enough to catch the majority of suits, but without the range it's often to late

If you look at the new ranges thing in the weapon stats, it has added prototype Breach, Burst, and Tactical as well as standard tactical. Imperial Breach and Imperial Burst do exist but only as remnant weapons from an event if I recall correctly. You had to kill with the TY 5 to get them I think (kill with a weapon get the next tier of that weapon free).
So I wouldn't be surprised if in 1.8:
- Proto Breach, Burst, and Tactical available on market
- All tactical available to market
- Removal of Assault
But yeah you know I would be down for this.

Of course I would see this my passive scan is at 53 meters with precision 34. I picked it up like, 40 meters back.

Hmmm.... I will have to give the stats another look. It would be a bummer if they removed the assault ScP in 1.8, but at least it would give the other variants a bit more shine as right now everyone uses the assault. (I've never once picked up the TT-3 or the Carthum). |

The breach is a fun pistol to use. it's pretty fun to drop a fool with one head shot.
I just wish it had more range. I lean on the ScP pretty hard when I'm running my laser fits and I need the extra range, so all my pistols tend to be either the assault variant or the burst pistol. I'm really looking forward to 1.8 now. I'm going to be running ScP with Bolt pistols.
Try to kill it all you want CCP, I still <3 my laser.

Can't wait to squad up! Hopefully everyone has mics... though my internet connection has been on the fritz lately and I've been getting tossed out of games. Also, I usually do run advanced fits (23k ISK apiece) so there's no problem there, I just like running proto's every now and then to add that little bit of extra stomping power. Already managed to find one squad within the chat, so good days shall surely follow! And hopefully some scrambler pistol fun. It'll be nice to break away from the combat rifle I've been using so much lately to go back to the roots of the all powerful headshots. |

I'm surprised no devs have posted something about this yet.
Remember the event in which every ten kills you got with a basic weapon you got an adavanced one, and every ten kills with an adavanced weapon you got a prototype one? This applied to the adavanced breach and burst scramblers.
And so they are currently in game. And I do hate to brag but I have 4 prototype imperial bursts left;) but no breach:(
The names suggest they will be a loyalty store only item, so better start killing those minmitar...
