I actually like the Breach Pistols, and would love to have a Proto level of one. Never came across one yet though, so +1

Never came across one yet though, so +1 Well, good on you for enjoying a very underused weapon! I want to give these things my love, but the breach versions just don't have the damage output for me, especially compared to the Carthium. I've only got proficiency lv 3 on em, so no where near the max damage output and even with three damage mods it's just not quite enough. Sure, a headshot makes for a wonderful head popping experience, but pulling off a headshot on a guy strafing/bunny hopping around with a controller is a bit much for an average player like myself. I'm just curious, how do you actually play with them? I've heard a few people run them with scouts, but I don't think I've ever noticed a breach scrambler pistol in the kill feed. :/ I've only picked it up a few times myself, range just doesn't cut it, but I did find a rather funny glitch. Stacking three damage mods on one and getting a headshot sends the enemies ragdolling across the map XD Least it did for me, was freakin' hilarious watching a heavy just shoot across the canyon. Monk (up there ^) Is a damn fine shot with the pistol. Always has things covered, great scout to roll with.
As a scout I run my Breach in a few ways.
Back up Weapon Breach pistol with my Nova Knives - NK suffer from the problem of back peddling, onece someone starts running back and firing at you you are not going to catch them before they shoot you dead. Breach has enough stopping power in a shot to finnish most suits that survived the NK hit. Same goes for the Shotgun.
As a backup to another pistol - Scramblers devastate shields, rather than reload after the initial unloading, I switch to the breach for extra punch on the armour.
Head Shots, and Primary Weapon
I am a decent shot, not fantastic. Headshots are something I find easier with the Breach, the slower rate of fire forces a bit of patience in lining up the shot. Spamming shots of the other ScP against bunny hoppers and strafers often leads to unfortunate reload timing Measured timed shots land more often for me.
I run these without damage mods (never skilled into them) and still find it a useful weapon, though I think a bit of a buff to damage would be in order for the Breach, to make it a truly viable variant when compared to the other ScP.

I might just try to pick up the breach again, haven't tested it in ages and now that I've got my proto minimatar scout, I might be able to make it work with my nova knives, though I'll probably just end up burning through a million isk... Maybe we could squad up sometime? Speaking of scouts, I'm curious as to whether either of you guys run with the passive scans upgraded and such, precision, range, etc? I'm trying to spec into the three in that tree and I'm not really noticing a difference. Only have advanced so far, but even with two advanced precision enhancers, I'm not able to detect anything outside of my line of sight from what I've noticed. Not sure if it's worth it at this point, even heavies a few meters away aren't showing up.
We should squad, as Monk says the Scouts United channel is a great place to share info and put to gather a squad. We should round up a ninja cowboy squad and get some full scout action going. I'll send you a mail when I get on, and add you to contacts. I run pistols on my Gal Scout, but I also run a second account that is Minja, though I run NK/Flaylock instead of pistols. We'll see what we can do to minimize your costs for running fits. Honestly until the changes in 1.8 hit you are probably better off running with ADV. Also if you get a few free suits from the Shinobi event it will help cut the costs down , though we won't see those until the 10th it seems I should warn you my play style is Embrace the Death, it's a bit different from others, just ask Monk
I absolutely recommend passive scanning range and precision to be at the very least skilled up to III. Range is essential, I prefer to not run the active scanner, because it gives a helpful tip that you are there, (and I really really like to blow things up with RE) You are not alone in your experience with Passive Scan not picking people up, and a few scouts have done some testing of this. I find less issues in structures than I do in hilly regions, lag is also suspected to cause some issues. Right no it's up for some debate. Lately I have not had many issues with mine on either character. My recommendation is to prioritize range over precision, simply because the base precision i good enough to catch the majority of suits, but without the range it's often to late
