Flashbangs, not so much, because they have a tendency to either be useless or more of a troll tactic than anything.
I'd love to see Smoke Grenades (and MD rounds) though. |

smoke grenades would not work well in this game...
grenades that create an ECM radiation field that obscure your vision on the other hand would be cool. |

Not sure about the purpose of flash grenades, but smoke grenades would be awesome to create some cover. This game lacks some cover to cross those vast open fields.

How would scanner nades work? A sphere of scanning at point of detonation? Man, combined with MD...epic.
I'd like webifier nades in my MD too..and just normal nades for that matter.

It would have to be more like a chaff grenade than conventional smoke, probably. |

The scanner nade would be a sticky device that once activated will produce an active scan effect with in a small radius 15-20m. The grenade then detonates when the scan runs out for 30% of standard nade damage.
MD appropriate rounds would be available! And Yes webifiers too, and time dilation gremades as well. Just not flashbangs or concussive.

I think MD needs more love than a non-damage variant. Would your dropsuit be considered valid if you used a smoke MD as the only weapon? Maybe if they introduced a secondary fire or load secondary ammo function so it could do either explosives or smoke. |

EMP would be cool, have it make your HUD go all fuzzy, forcing you to count rounds and guesstimate your current eHp. Plus no radar. Would work about as well as a flashbang considering how much people rely on scanners now.

I HATE flashbangs and they would get EXTREMELY annoying.
EMP seems a bit redundant since we have flux.
Smoke wouldn't work because CCP wouldn't be able to render them properly without messing up the actual gameplay.
I want caltrop grenades like on the game Brink. |

Oh god NO!
The lag and the frame rate on this game would just get worse
Imagine with some smoke grenades the frame rate on that smoke ..
It would be nice thought but then people will be saying its to OP.
We are still in Beta Testing.

No Smoke grenades for DUST 514. They can't handle solid frame rates in crowded area's let alone potentially 32 smoke grenades.
I love flash bangs. but their purpose really is to take no fire while pushing or infiltrating, keeping the enemy stunned long enoguh you can enter the space and acquire targets before they recover.
While neat and tactical it ruins so much gungame and firefight potential. And whos to say that these suit's don;t have some automated anti flare defense.
I Much like the New Eden, EVE like approach of thrown AOE weapons. For example the Talked about webbifier Grenade being able to slow all the movement of players in an area could be much more applicable for creating fights and momentary tactical advantages so one side feels confident enough to initiate fights. |

The biggest question that nobody wanting these has answered, is what will make them an effective alternative to standard or flux grenades.

It's a habit of mine to backpedal and turn slightly when a grenade lands near me anyway. Flash should only effect you if you are looking right at it.... Though CCP aren't very good at the tricky technical stuff yet, so i also say "not so much" but add "yet..."
Shouting doesn't make your opinion seem more valid, it just makes you seem more annoying.
