How about nobody for a single merc and nobodies for the plural. Seems we are considered lesser by all new Eden. And we technicaly have no body. Well not original body provising we did not keep it alive via life support or some other artificial means...however that begs the more philosophical question, even if all the component parts of our body as replaced, is this still our own body...or a new one entirely.... does the mind or location thereof affect that distinction? The Brian reacts to hormones secreted by the body, the stomach has a impact as well. without these connects the human brain becomes more of a computer, but that's just my theory. Only three years of biological anatomy so this is in no way a concrete answer. I think that whatever your uninterrupted consciousness is connected to and can control is considered your body. The original body thing doesn't even make any sense once you realize that every molecule in your body is replaced within 11 years. Not a single molecule that was 'you' 11 years ago is still part of you. You are your consciousness.

/me grabs a notepad and a bowl of popcorn So how exactly does the consciousness transfer process work, anyway? Is there some centralized system that buffers the consciousness after death? Or does the consciousness instantly enter another body? The former seems to be implied by the map screen and spawn selection you get after death. It probably exists in both the hosts brain and on a remote storage system, to prevent the consciousness from being destroyed if the implant becomes... broken. The brain and storage system are probably linked using quantum entanglement communications as to allow your consciousness to exist in two places at once, but still remain a single entity. Your memories are likely on the storage system, so they don't get lost in the case the brain is instantly destroyed.

http://askanaturalist.com/do-we-replace-our-cells-every-7-or-10-years/ The cells aren't replaced, but the matter that makes them up is over time. I did find an exception though. The DNA in the cells within the cortex isn't replaced, specifically the Carbon 14 molecules in the DNA. Other than that one exception, it seem that every other molecule is replaced within 7-11 years. On a related note, there are so many molecules in our bodies, that in all likelihood, a molecule that was in me at some point, is inside you right now.
