Thor, There were a few non-ringer PX1 vs ML battles over the past week or so. They were all close battles, but we won all of the ones I was in.
That said, both sides have both locked districts and called in ringers -- so I fail to see the point in the OP.
Personally, I'd like to see the end of ringers and district locking entirely. Until then, I suppose we'll have to make the best of the MH situation and PC dynamics as we find them.

Derrith, I was not a party to all the battles, and neither were you, but my understanding is both parties have done it. It's unclear to me who started it, but in the end, we have both done it so neither one of us can sit on a high horse and look down upon the other.
Of course you are entitled to your opinion and how to best express it, but I don't think it's fair to call anyone a hypocrite -- it's not like we've spoken out against the practices of ringing or district locking.
Nothing would make me happier than to square off 16 ML vs 16 PX1 with no district locking, but, alas, that's not the MH we find ourselves in.
PC is broken. I think we can all agree on that. The result is many corps both lock districts and call in ringers to defend contested ones. As I posted above, I don't like it one bit...but that's the MH that we find ourselves in, and we're simply trying to make the best of what is a very dysfunctional system.
If that makes us bad guys, or even hypocrites in the eyes of some, so be it. I'd like to think we're only trying to make the best of a bad situation using the tools and techniques available to us to survive and prosper.
Take care...Leadfoot |

I think one of the problems within this broken mechanic is we never know who the other side will bring....
If PX1 calls in AE, they will continue to beat ML....as was the case in the battle late last night.
If ML calls in FA, they will continue to beat PX1...as was the case earlier in the week.
If we both call in ringers, the ringers fight it out, and we get to twiddle our thumbs and have our big brothers fight our fights for us.
Where's the fun in that?
So we have a bit of a conundrum....with each side not knowing what the other will do.
What's most sad to me is that those PX1 vs ML battles tend to be very close and exciting ones. We've had some truly epic and nailbiting rounds between us, and it's disappointing to me we can't continue to experience the exhilaration of an evenly matched battle rather than hearing about how FA crushed PX1 or experiencing ML getting stomped by AE for the 30th time. lol
Here's looking forward to PC 2.0, where, hopefully, some of these issues will be resolved with PC taking a turn for the better....Leadfoot |

Trust me i once had the same viepoint you do, and the tag next to the name meant a lot more to me than anything else. Now i still hold a great amount of pride in my tags, i learned that it is a lost battle in not accepting the entire 'ringer' presence in this game. IT just goes with playing dust. my 2nd ever pc match...3rd day of pc...attacking seraphim. EnTire team of bunnies. That, then, threw me off, but its been around since the beginning and simply wont change next topic for QQers anonymous plz.
Cubs, I expect you're right, and ringing will always be a part of the landscape in New Eden. Might as well get used to it, as you suggest.
However, I wonder if we cant' find a way to change some of the other broken pieces. Not locking timers and the introduction corporate battles (where ringing might NOT be allowed) would both be improvements from where I sit....and hopefully the powers that be will think of a few more and the results will be a more active and more enjoyable PC....Leadfoot |

I think our "city squad" stopped spawning in around the 3 minute mark lolol. Very impressed by how fast ya'll made it to the city and setup shop.. and Cubs, great job with the forge. The rest of ya'll with boundless CR's... freakin crazy couldn't spawn in or move without getting blasted in ~ 1 second. Looking forward to the next PC match... How a garbage player like you still has a corp is beyond me. Thanks for the free kills though.
He's hardly garbage, Kobra. He's a good player, and a good squadmate. He's loyal to our cause, and has been since day one.
He might not be good as you or your team of all-stars. That hardly makes him "garbage". |
