An attempt at a comprehensive guide of publicly available chat channels. I will confirm all channels prior to listing, "social" channels must have at least 10 consistent members to be listed, so as to promote congregation in the same channels. Please use the following format to submit a channel for listing.
Name : type : purpose (social only required)
Types: corp public, alliance public, social
Example; Plan B Public: corp public: Plan B recruitment and diplomatic channel.(include affiliated corp/alliance if not in channel name}

Looks like that one hasn't been updated in awhile though.
Ilk use it as the basis for this post and confirm any of the listings that are inactive and update with some of the ones people requested but never got added.

Training Channels:
Learning Coalition : Rookie training : Experienced members from any Corp are invited to squad up with or answer questions from new DUST players from any Corp.
Social Channels:
Drunk Night : Social : The Drunk Heavy, who has a YouTub following, setup the channel for people to hang out, squad up, and drink heavily on (I believe) Friday nights. For the rest of the week members of the channel use is to form squads with other relaxed fun loving people. Sometimes there will be enough people on there that it will stop listing the people in the channel.

I'm not even sure if the one guy is still around to update the OP anymore. Anyways, here's the main channels I'm using right now.
PIE Public - corporation channel for PIE Inc and affiliated corporations
PIE Ground Control - FW channel for Amarr, with orbital support
ARC Program D-Uni - a commando training corporation
Commando Squadron - a commando social/get together channel
ARC Commander
CPM Info and Q&A - Status: Open

Unfortunately pie ground control and commando squadron are pretty empty ATM, so I won't list them. I'll check periodicly to see if their membership is just low during this time of day (dated screenies will help your cause)
I just don't want to list smaller channels when everyone could congregate on similarly themed/based channels, instead f being spread out.
Plus with low membership their more likely to go inactive.

Oh I never new this, thanks atom.
Still if no me has walked recently enough to show up, the channel s semi dead. I mean a change with 50 people but NY two talking... meh sees more likely they only have 2
