I was with you until you bitched about cloaks and 1.7. 1.7. was not a disaster. HAVs are incredibly overpowered currently, but the patch itself was a good step in the right direction.
You also forgot a character creation that actually makes sense. Maybe one day, race will have some kind of impact (I don't think bloodline ever will). And your Academy idea just means that veterans make new characters for stomping when they are bored, even though I agree that there needs to be more Academy time. I guess the idea of fragmenting the playerbase via game modes is okay, as your entire concept is based on a fixed game with a healthy playerbase.
P.S. I don't know anything about Destiny, except that it's done by the Halo makers. And I found Halo gameplay to be incredibly bland. If I ever buy a multiplayer FPS at full price, I'll do Titanfall. That one actually has an awesome concept. I wish this game could have some of the fast-paced fun that Crysis 3 had. It was like playing the perfect hybrid of old-school twitch shooters and modern tactical FPS. |

They would balance each other out.
I would prefer Crytek. That company actually knows how to make a game feel like real sci-fi and giving every single player a sense of power. And their multiplayer level design is actually decent, in contrast to their singleplayer variants. Also, their game modes are rather creative. (Crysis 3 had a mode where one permanently cloaked player hunts an entire team of players who don't have nanosuits. Every killed guy would transform into another hunter. The hunters win by killing everyone, the humans by surviving until the timer runs out) Three areas where CCP would need some help.
Though three companies working together would be a hilarious clusterfuck. |

Gearbox`s weapons system (Litterally millions of variants that all feel different) Cryteks graphics CCPs - I.P and creativity DICE - for multiplayer scalability Bethesda for the PVE side....
Actually any combination of any of the elements COULD be very impressive. One day , possibly in my lifetime a game like this will be made. Maybe another decade or two and it could happen.
The scale of EVE online yet every last battlefield with the detail and scope of a modern day shooter. How about this: - CCP -> IP and setting, as well as economics and retaining EVE style (It should be recognizable as a game in New Eden) - Crytek -> Graphics and fluff/gameplay integration (Crysis 3 multiplayer was very good at making the "you are all demigods in power armor" concept totally believable and made movement feel like a real joy) - DICE for multiplayer on the technical side and NPE, as well as player retention - Bungie for vehicle physics (And nothing else, really. The warthog was literally the only thing I enjoyed about Halo) - The guys who are doing Star Citizen for merging EVE and Dust - An assorted board of on-off members of various companies for ideas.
But which company would be best at balance?
Anyway, I feel like gaming has become so complex that this idea isn't as far-fetched as it may seem. You would just have to get *very* good organisation going. And the legal side would likely be a nightmare. |
