It's really irritating. Shouldn't this be a fairly high priority fix?

I suspect for them to be able to fix this they will have to make ownership of the vehicle change when it is hacked. The consequence of this is that it would mean you could recall a hacked vehicle.
So far I'm sure you're thinking that this all sounds amazing. We all agree that we should be able to recall hacked vehicles and add them to our inventory. The problem with this is unfortunately that any use of BPO's (think about those BPO LAV so many of us have). Telling the game to only give the player a BPC instead of stealing the BPO from your inventory is pretty tricky and something CCP has said they are struggling with.
I'm sure there are other issues with the programming that make this a bit more tricky to fix than it seems on the surface.

Now that you mention it, I can see a huge dilemma.
If the hacked vehicle happens to be a BPO, then changing ownership upon hacking would mean that the owner would never bring in the vehicle BPO to the battlefield. Even if the owner were to stay in the driver seat throughout the entire match for added safety the owner still runs the risk of getting randomly disconnected and then a lone BPO will be left up for grabs. These are the only kind of tears I wouldn't want to see from anyone.
Even if copy is produced for the hacker whenever a BPO vehicle is hacked, that is not going to be good to the future economy when very smart players use this to game the system in a way that is both unfair and potentially harmful to the economy especially once manufacturing is involved and the trade value of the BPO is at stake.

They don't even have to go that far for a fix, they could just designate the vehicle permanently ownerless/faction owned after it's first hacked. Yeah it sucks for the original owner should they in some off-chance recover the vehicle but it serves them right for getting it hacked in the first place.
But getting back at the being able to recall captured vehicles, that scenario can be simply avoided all together by making hacked BPO vehicles not recallable. |

this is a dumb problem, they need to fix this and also they need to make stolen vehicles salvage at the end of a battle if its still alive |

Couldn't understand seeing as how I don't play that much because it just takes too dam long for me to get a match and I know that I haven't killed any friendlies ... just don't play that way.

#12 Posted: 2014.02.17 20:57 | Report CCP FoxFour wrote: Hey, I will let CCP Nullarbor know about this. Your suggestion that it was originally a friendly vehicle actually makes some sense. However there is nothing we can do about the accidental ban, if this was actually an accident, the only thing we can do is look into making sure it doesn't happen in the future.
Please work on this issue, not just about Hacked tanks, Summoned original enemy tanks too, as happened to me like 4 times: first with my missile launchers, second time using a Gauss turret and 2 more times with my tank using Gauss Proto barrel. On four occasions I was ban by friendly fire, when I very sure the tanks were not Hacked ones. It is very unfortunate and deception for a player who likes to play FW.
