The deliverer of the Holy Vessel of Mercy must take an active part as a sacrificial offering himself in order to successfully complete the ritual and ascend to the glory of the Gods of AV.

It's damned hard to walk straight up to 1000ehp of 450 DPS and stab them with a knife. If you are that heavy, and you allow someone to get close enough to you that they can tickle you, you deserve to die. Scale this up about 10 times and you have tanks and jeeps. If you shoot one of those REs on the front of that jeep, that thing is blown to oblivion. If you are going to be driving around 100 tons of heavy ordinance, it might be a good idea to have a degree of situational awareness.
