just read Templar One, very good read for those who want to know more about the lore. So where are the flay traps? (claymores basically) and small gellente recon drones that were in the story? it just seems like u would add the stuff from official canon in first.
the 1st templar also used an arc cannon, is that the amarr hmg? it shot energy so it seems so. there is also a surprise appearance by the black eagles. they are is badasses. |

Drones are something they are looking at. I think they're at the 'how to implement them without them being too OP' stage. I could see them as maybe mobile (and short range) scanners.
When I play as a sniper, I'm more likely to be nearer to the opponents redline than my own.

I was under the impression that the game couldn't handle them for the same reason we're limited to 16v16.
Happily printing ISK with permahardeners and MLT blasters.
Just let me get a couple mil more before nerf, CCP!

Lol Flay Traps would be hard to grasp. Imagine having them in the Gallente Research Facility. Would make it a WHOLE lot harder to break into. Walk up the steps...boom. Turn a corridor...boom. Lol and then FF would be even more nasty. I still want them though but I guess we have to make them deterrence weapons that don't O.H.K. unless you're a light frame, who should be able to actively see them, but instead they do a good chunk of damage to most medium suits...while stacked Caldari medium frames and heavy frames just trololol through them.
The issue with drones would probably just be that you'd have to balance all the races. That's a lot of crap to deal with, especially since we have such issues with other things.

How long ago in the lore did Templar Ones take place? I'm not sure, but couldn't those weapons you listed just be... outdated. Drones won't be, because that's a generic term, but Flay Traps and Arc Cannons might be practically useless against out new tech. That's what happened with the Gauss Rifle, that thing can't even damage our shields anymore apparently.
