Dammit, I was prepping a Ferroscale/Reactive plate not being right thread.
Might as well post it here. Not thread jacking just inputting my 2 cents.
Reactive Plates
2x Reactive plates should provide similar performance to an equivalent Plate/Repairer set at a slightly increased cpu/pg cost. e.g. 80% of the benefit at the same cost:
Complex Reactive Plate -- 66hp, -3% m/s, 3hp/s 45CPU, 14PG Enhanced Reactive Plate -- 55hp -2% m/s, 2hp/s 33CPU, 7PG Basic Reactive Plate -- 40hp -1% m/s, 1hp/s 18CPU, 1PG
-OR- should provide slightly worse performance to an equivalent Plate/Repairer set at the same approximate cpu/pg cost. e.g. same benefit at 120% the cost *this route looks like what was originally planned but underwent last minute tweaks for the worse*:
Complex Reactive Plate -- 55hp, -2% m/s, 2hp/s 36CPU, 12PG Enhanced Reactive Plate -- 44hp -1% m/s, 1hp/s 28CPU, 7PG Basic Reactive Plate -- 33hp -0% m/s, 1hp/s 15CPU, 1PG
- Require BOTH Armor Plating and Armor Repair Systems to fit.
Have all applicable bonuses apply (armor repair sys, plating, role bonus) not just Armor Plating apply to them
example fits wrote: 1x Complex Rep + 1x Complex Plate -- 135hp, -5%m/s, 5hp/s, 75CPU, 23PG
2x Complex Reactives(Currently) ---- 120hp, -4m/s, 4hp/s, 72CPU, 32PG (worse performance, worse fitting cost)
2x Complex Reactives(Example A) -- 132hp, -6%m/s, 6hp/s, 90CPU, 28PG (similar performance, worse fitting cost)
2x Complex Reactives(Example B) -- 110hp, -4%m/s, 4hp/s, 72CPU, 24PG (worse performance, similar fitting cost)
1x Enhanced Rep + 1x Enhanced Plate -- 110hp, -3%m/s, 3hp/s, 55CPU, 11PG
2x Enhanced Reactives(Currently) ---- 80hp, -2m/s, 2hp/s, 48CPU, 18PG (worse performance, worse fitting cost)
2x Enhanced Reactives(Example A) -- 110hp, -4%m/s, 4hp/s, 72CPU, 24PG (similar performance, worse fitting cost)
2x Enhanced Reactives(Example B) -- 88hp, -2%m/s, 2hp/s, 56CPU, 14PG (worse performance, similar fitting cost)
1x Basic Rep + 1x Basic Plate -- 85hp, -2%m/s, 2hp/s, 30CPU, 2PG
2x Basic Reactives(Currently) ---- 50hp, +/-0m/s, 2hp/s, 20CPU, 8PG (worse performance, worse fitting cost)
2x Basic Reactives(Example A) -- 80hp, -2%m/s, 2hp/s, 36CPU, 2PG (similar performance, worse fitting cost)
2x Basic Reactives(Example B) -- 66hp, +/-0%m/s, 2hp/s, 30CPU, 2PG (worse performance, similar fitting cost)
The reactive plates we have now are worse performing with worse fitting costs. They shouldn't outperform an individual Armor Rep and Plate set but should provide viable alternate fitting options. Through comparisons PG usage of Std/Adv reactive plates should be reduced by 3kW/2kW and CPU usage reduced by 5gF/4gF; Hp should be increased for Std/Adv reactive plates by 8hp/4hp
Ferroscale plates
As they are, they just defy logic. lighter material(less armor) costs more cpu/pg than regular plates? So why not instead...
Complex Ferroscale Plate -- 70hp, -2% m/s, 23CPU, 10PG Enhanced Ferroscale Plate -- 55hp -1% m/s, 15CPU, 6PG Basic Ferroscale Plate -- 40hp +/-0% m/s, 7CPU, 1PG
for reference: wrote: Complex Reactive Plate -- 60hp, -1% m/s, 2hp/s 36CPU, 16PG Enhanced Reactive Plate -- 40hp, -1% m/s, 1hp/s 24CPU, 9PG Basic Reactive Plate -- 25hp, +/-0% m/s, 1hp/s 10CPU, 4PG
Complex Armor Plate -- 135hp, -5% m/s, 30CPU, 12PG Enhanced Armor Plate -- 110hp -3% m/s, 20CPU, 6PG Basic Armor Plate -- 85hp -2% m/s, 10CPU, 1PG
Complex Armor Repairer -- 5 hp/s, 45CPU, 11PG Enhanced Armor Repairer -- 3 hp/s, 35CPU, 5PG Basic Armor Repairer-- 2 hp/s, 20CPU, 1PG
Complex Ferroscale Plate -- 75hp, +/-0% m/s, 39CPU, 14PG Enhanced Ferroscale Plate -- 50hp +/-0% m/s, 27CPU, 7PG Basic Ferroscale Plate -- 35hp +/-0% m/s, 15CPU, 2PG
